Trying to lose weight. Can I still work out?
Hey guys and girls. I am now on a diet. I am currently 260lbs, trying to get to 220lbs. I was just wondering when I diet and if I continue to work out, will me working out have any effect or slow down my weight loss? My plans after the diet are to mass. Thanks.

im really sorry for saying this but this is possibly the dumbest question ive ever seen. working out will greatly improve your weight loss efforts. weightlifting speeds up your metabolism, burns lots of calories, and increases protein synthesis.

Oops. Sorry guys. I am obviously going to still do cardio. But I heard it is impossible to try and mass, then loose weight at the same time?

its not impossible to add mass and cut...but that shouldnt be your goal IMO...working out is still necessary for all the other reasons listed above...it will also help you to have deeper "cuts"...

I have to agree that this question is.............
well...................
out there.
Working out w/weights should be 1 of 3 neccessary components when wishing to attain a body composition change for the better.

IMO working out with weights is MORE important than cardio if you are trying to lose weight. Both are key, but if i had to choose one....

1. diet
2. cardio
3. resistance training
Without the first, forget the other two. Removing weights will make you a skinny/shriveled up mess after 3-4 weeks

Right on thanks guys. I just read that lifting weights while cutting is pointless. Guess I won't visit that site anymore. :P .
