    1st would be eat meat

Seriously though, replace a couple meals with pro/fat. So something like whey/1oz almonds for a veg head Make sure she gets healthy fats as well. Does she at least eat fish?

no man, nothing with a face or muscle...religous belief...trust me, ive tried to get her to taste a delicious steak...but no dice - this is whats making the protien such a task.

most of her protein now comes from shakes and cottage cheese, i finally got her to eat eggs because at first that was a no, no too

Egg whites, tofu and legumes (beans, peanuts) are the best sources of protein in a vegetarian diet. Cottage cheese is great too but has a lot of sodium.

When I was a bark eaten Vegan, I ate a lot of different types of soy, wheat, and veggie sources to get my protein. It is pretty tough because one has to eat so many types of veg sources to get all the aminos and many of the processed veg foods are very carb loaded. Plus I felt a lot of stomach discomfort eating so much soy based foods all the time. Look at the cutting sticky and see if you can figure something out based on the macro ratios and her stats. Hope she cooks cause it will take some meal planning.

Eggs, shakes, and cc can work. It's not optimal by no means, but just replacing some meals with pro/fat should definately help along with increased cardio. 4-5 times a week 45-60 mins.

Cottage Cheese, Eggs, milk and Whey should be just about enough. That plenty of protein there, also Soy.

Water intake will help this. Or you can buy the low sodium variety.

I always equate being a vegetarian and wanting to lose fat and gain lean mass easily as one wanting to be a doctor, but not wanting to go to medical school.

For some situations, certain criteria are neccessary.

well, you might want to inform her that her religious beliefs conflict with her physical body and ask her why her "god" put her into a body that's supposed to consume meat, then her "god" tells her she can't?! the human body is an omnivore, meaning in order to maintain a healthy diet, we need BOTH meats and veggies. this is not opinion, it's fact. the proof confirming this is not only our bodies physiology, but the reduced lifespan of vegetarians, indicating the deficiencies from lack of meats are having a negative impact on their health. there is just certain macro and micro nutrients that our bodies require which you can't get in a vegetarian diet.

my favorite thing to open peoples minds to new possibilities is ask her what makes her think her religion is right compared to all the rest out there? also, ask her what kind of god she believes in that makes a small handful of people right and all the rest damned to hell because of where they were born and the beliefs they were born into? personally, that's a pretty sick and twisted god in my opinion. there's a little more to it than that...

not trying to preach to you buddy and if she's beyond hope as far as the religious thing by all means don't take my advice as it will surely turn into a nasty argument. however, for her health (and hopefully enlightenment as well) i'd strongly advise getting her out of this concept she's doing purely for religious reasons. moral reasons are one thing (even though for health concerns i'm still against it), but religious reasons for being a vegetarian i just find a little ridiculous. try to help her out man.

as for me being a meat eater i see where your coming from but you would really have to hear the story as to what made her family (before she was even born) turn from meat eaters which they were to vegatarians...its amazing...a bit personal for me to go into to detail, but trust me when i tell you that, that type of experience would make anyone with a sould change also...

    that being said...

in her defense i may have miss represented her beliefs...they are really more towards the moral reasons and a way of life...reincarnation and that sort of thing.

bottom line ive worked out a pretty decent diet (i think) ill post it tomorrow and ill be looking for some more feedback.

so at this point it is a forgone coclusion that she will not eat meat but its working her ass off to stay fit continue to see results...isnt that what we are all here for?

so anymore positive input is more than welcomed.

here is the veg diet i came up with, let me know what you guys think - her main goal is to lean up so im wondering...is 1500cal too many and are the carbs too high at 124g for her in the day?

i took the cutting sticky above and tried to alter it to her day and veg diet...

    again her stats are:

    25yo

Looks pretty good. But I would add 10g of flax in meal 5, since it's not a pro/carb meal as the carbs in broccoli are negligible Also, natty pb in meal 6?

Macros look good. I'd still keep the PB in meal 6, just wanted to make sure it was natty pb I'd add 5 flax caps meal 5 though, as whey is absorbed to quickly without fat. That's all I would modify for now and see how she responds to the diet. I think she will do really well if she keeps up the cardio/training up.

hey bro I'm sure that when you wrote this you didn't mean any harm or offence to anyone however i was slightly offended with some of the topics you covered and how you pretty much made it sound like religion should have no impact on AL lives in terms of what we eat and to a certain extent you made religion sound like it was of no importants thats how i saw it anyway maybe im just being a little sensitive thats all.

i just want to say that you should be carefull when opening the topic of religion as it can offend some people

especially just after easter everyone who is Christan will be a little more sensitive then normal.

and sory for a short hijack of the thread i know it has nothing to do with a vegaterian diet.
