Cardio OUTDOORS at the park? help!

every morning i wake up at 6 so i can do some cardio before school. my problem is i dont have time to go drive to the gym and get on the oliptic which is my favorite cardio so im stuck with doing a powerwalk/ lite jog at a park. There are a few hills but i dont feel that i get the same cardio in and i dont have anything to measure my heartrate with...

am i still burning the fat and hitting 65% do u think? cuz i dont feel the same way i do after a 45 min oliptic run then after doing what i do at the park... any tips?

You're waking up early anyhow, you've already said the park doesn't feel anything like the eliptical, so getting up earlier makes entire sense to me.

That's what I would do for sure, but then again I'd never walk in a park for cardio or run in one either.

I just got a reebox heart rate montior for $40. Does the same thing as a regular piece of cardio equipment: stopwatch, heart rate, counts calories burned, even times the elapsed time in your target heart rate (you program that in as desired). It even works underwater if you like to swim.

sounds like a good investment but i was wondering if there are any disadvantages/advantages of doing cardio not on a machine? swole says he would never but is there a reason? i would be burning the same about of fat no?

I would imagine as long as your in the same fasted state and maintaining the same intensity for the same amount of time, you should burn the same amount of fat. I think Swole wouldn't do it for other reasons, but I could be wrong.

I like using equipment for cardio in a controlled environment.
