Question about timing of meal after AM cardio.

I do my cardio 40mins 70% max heart rate in the am before work about 6:15am. I end about 7:10 am.. My question is: I have 25g of whey before i do my cardio session. Then I have to run home and shower because I have to go to work. I do not have time to eat my usual breakfast (8 egg whites and 1 cup oatmeal) until i get to work which is about 8:30..

    Is this too long?
Would that protein shake before cardio hold me over until i eat breakfast?

I do not want to eat somthing that does not fit into my diet plan just
because i do not have time

BTW I am on a cutting diet....

I was faced with a similar situation due to school and a lengthy drive time. What I did was my normal AM cardio and I blended a whey/oats shake together. Pounded that down on the drive 30-45 minutes after my fasted cardio and it didn't hinder my results.

On days that I did that, though, I would make sure that the rest of my meals were whole foods.

    just a suggestion

answer =no whey pre cardio...it will be used as the energy source instead of fat...instead use BCAAs if you are worried about catbolism...when you get back home and get a shower, make a shake consisting of Whey and cold oats, and lots of water....just shake it up and you have a good pro/carb meal in about a minutes time
