Need Help/Advice From The Pros
Hi,
I am new to this forum, although have been reading here off and on for the past few months. I have a weight problem, although I do not eat much, I can't seem to lose any of my weight. I am 21, 6'1" and over 350 Lbs.
Someone I know once brought me a bottle of Ventipulmin (liquid) and said this will work, although when I went on a website to read up about Clenbuterol , it said that the Ventipulmin was for veterinary use whereas they have tablets which are made for human use, therefore I did not take it. He said it would take effect immediately and within two weeks I would start seeing results. I don't know what side effects to that are and that's why I need some of the pro's here to help me.
I need to lose weight fast, but I do not want to use a product that will effect my health or heart. I'd appreciate if someone can please help me and let me know what is the best thing for me to do to:
1) Lose weight - AS FAST AS POSSIBLE
2) Build a nice body (Not like the pro. body builders, but something like a pro. wrestler)
Thanks in advance!!!

Thanks for your advice. I did some more reading in other threads and saw some people had great results with an elliptical trainer? Some say they are good and others say they are bad for knees....are they worth buying?
Right now I have a Bowflex and a treadmill at my house. I am motivated to do this, I know it will not happen overnight but I will not give up.
All help in regards to diet and/or any equipment I may need to purchase will be greatly appreciatedLast edited by porscheboy85; 07-02-2006 at 12:48 PM.

what is your dietary approach to losing all your weight?
-

Ellipticals are great. It's my main source of cardio work. And it's great on the knees because its zero impact unlike a treadmill. Get a heart rate monitor and do cardio on your elliptical for 45-60 minutes every morning at 65% of your max heart rate. In your case thats 220(max)-21(age)*.65=130bpm. It's really pretty easy since you don't have to bring your heart rate up super high.
You mentioned in your first post that you don't eat much but you still gain weight? What exactly are you eating now? In order to help you out you need to post up your diet so we can tell you exactly where you're going wrong.

I was looking at doing cardio first thing every morning. 20 minutes of treadmill and 20 minutes on the bike for the first two weeks to get the hang of it, then increase them both by 10 minutes. As for food, for breakfast I would eat whole weat toast (no butter) along with egg whites. As for major meals, I would restrict myself to fish, grilled chicken breast, vegetables and salad. Some people told me I can eat steaks all the time but I don't know how much that is true.... Absolutely no potatoes, white bread, pizza or anything of that sort.
As for drinks I take Gatorade. I drink about 4-5 a day, please let me know if that is fine or I should stop that. My biggest problem that caused most of this is I run an online business and 90% of the times I am sitting on a chair, working on a computer.
I was also considering getting a personal trainer if that would be of any help.

First glaring problem I see is gatorade 5X a day. Check the sugar on that shit and you'll see why your metabolism is slowing down. Spiking your insulin 5X a day with gatorade isn't helping you any. The other foods you mentioned are good, steak is ok later in the evening. Have you read the cutting sticky yet?
UNoffical "How to Cut" thread and sample diet...

I don't usually eat breakfast. I am lucky that next door to my office I have a body building supplements store. They make salads and wraps on tortilla. They put vegetables, brown rice, chicken and cheddar cheese. You can also get it with steak, tuna, etc. So sometimes I eat those.
I won't lie, I do eat burgers and fries but rarely. I do not eat chocolate or any sweets. I would maybe eat a small desert after months. I also avoid ice cream. For dinners, generally I eat steak, or chicken on the BBQ but this whole time I have been eating with Potatoes and I have been eating white bread with butter.

Where can I find the cutting sticky?
I will stop on the gatorade right away. Any other juice that I can replace that with or strictly water? Should I avoid drinking lots of water while eating food as well?

You wanna make a conscious effort to split your macro's. That means no cheese on your wrap if its got carbs (rice). Also watch the sugars in BBQ sauces, they can be the silent killer. Potatoes are good, especially sweet potatoes, but not late at night. Man running an online business is probably the most pimp job for a body builder to have. You can eat every 3 hours and not have anyone bitching at you.

LOL ya you're right about that. I am going to read the sticky now. I also need to buy a weighing scale that can go over 350 Lbs, I want to get everything right away before I get started so I can see my results on a weekly basis. I really appreciate all your help and advice!!!

About the scale, be careful with watching the scale. I would only weigh in every week or so and do it at the same time every weigh in. Usually right after waking in the morning. I'd always use the mirror as a reference before a scale. Mirrors never lie! Gotta do cardio

That is a very helpful guide!
Now do I need any Glutamine to go with my diet/workout? As for the sample diet, I will have to make a sheet and post it for you to see (which I will do).
As for protein shakes, do I need those right away? If so which ones are good. The store next to mine has about 15 different ones they make right there, but I am starting to think twice about those because they have Oreo shakes which they put the actual cookies in, and Root beer ones and they pour an entire can of pop in there. What is the use of a protein shake, if there's an entire can of rot beer mixed in there?
Their website address is http://www.reflexonline.com -- would there be anything I would need to buy from them. There's so many types of powders that I am confused which one I would need to take.
Thanks

dedication, dedication, dedication, making a good diet is easy, following it is very hard for most people. no matter if you feel tired, lazy, or depressed, you cant miss a workout/cardio session or cheat on your diet.
anyone can change their body, it takes 5% intelligence and 95% "just fvckin do it" attitude. also dont expect 350lbs to dissapear overnight, give it time and stick with it
good luck, and keep us posted on your progress

Also do you know where I can buy a scale that can hold over 350 lbs? I have a tough time finding one, even doctors don't have it out here.

bro, there is nothing wrong with potatoes. make sure you are eating enough to support your LBM. look into the Harris Benedict equation to figure out your calorie intake. don't be afraid of low GI carbs either (brown rice, oats, sweet potatoes, potatoes) and try to not combine fats and carbs as often as possible. look at the sticky, get the ideas down, let us take a look. then IMPLEMENT YOUR PLAN. time takes time ya know...

Thanks!! Do I need any glutamine tablets as well during my diet/training?
-
07-03-2006, 10:42 AM #20
Porscheboy, at this point in time diet and training should be your only concern. Glutamine, thermogenics, etc. will be helpful in the future, but you've got a lot fo work ahead of you, and the two building blocks to accomplishing your goals are the ones that requrie the most dedication, and those are training and diet.
Once those are squared away and you can stay dedicated to each, the supps will just be a nice addition to an already rock solid routine.
Keep it simple, talk with the guys on here, follow the diets, and train hard...it will work! Good luck!
