Phosphoric an ingredient in most soft drinks is a greater source of decay than the sweetener used in them. Best I can remember diet coke also contains phosphoric acid. If it does then you are not any safer from dental decay.

Hey, whats goin on S.P.G?
Chewing gum and using 1/4th tsp of sodium bicarbonate spread with ur tongue should normalize the PH or drinking milk and chewing gum after to
remove the sugars and chewing on something fiberous like celery.
Brushing your teeth right after a drink is more abrasive though.

My dad is a dentist and i can tell you that it soda will decay your teeth. If you have a couple cans a day of diet coke I personally dont think you will run into any problems (I haven't yet and don't have any cavitites).
Diet soda helps me stay on my diet; its like having a candy bar especially after a mouthful of broccoli! Hope this helped
