    dextrose substitute

    i was just wondering what could i use as a high gi carb instead of dextrose or maltodextrin?

    Sweet tarts/smarties/nerds.

    They are all dextrose based candy and work in the same fashion.

    maltodextrin? that is a less sweet version but more expensive correct?

    glycerol has a quite high GI i think, don't quote me on that but it's another option.

    so does that mean anything with high fructose corn syrup would work also?

    I would not use fructose corn syrup, no.

    I supplied the alternatives I would utilize above, you may have missed them.

    i was readin alot of these posts and they say that sweet tarts ex ex is a good source for my pwo but how my packs or peices do u eat.

    i used to eat 1.5 packs of sweet tarts in order to get the amount of dex i needed for pwo. Its hard to eat that many though immediately after workout.

    I'm cutting and I take in 1 cup oats (54 grams of carbs) after my workout. I would like to start eating sweet tarts after my work out (I love candy)....do i take in 54 grams of carbs worth of sweet tarts?

    yea, just read the labels and figure up how many it takes to equal 54 grams.
