hey i have been making awesome progress the past 6 or some months (due to my pretty awesome diet) the thing is these past few weeks ive been having trouble eating as much food as i once did. Its just like i dont really even look forward to my next meal or even to EATING period! Im so sick of wheat bagels and wheat pasta its incredible, canned chicken get out of here. What do you guys do when you just get kinda stuck up in your diet?

personally? if it were me? and i had been really strict for months apon months and felt stuck in a rut? i would think of my absolute favorite food in the whole world, think of who cooks it the absolute best, and give myself a really satisfying cheat meal. granted it's only one meal, but maybe if you indulge in a food that you REALLY love but haven't had in a long time, it'll satisfy you enough to continue on your bulk. i'm still a little new to the sport so haven't even been eating clean for as long as you've been on your lean bulk, but from what others have told me, that sounds like a viable solution.

I always switch the diet up food wise that is I mean just usually the protein source. Last few months I had chicken 3 times a day now I have tuna and beef more than chicken just little things like that and I always use spices and herbs I love terragon on my chicken or some spicy pepper

i basically eat canned chicken 2-4 times a day, and have an average of 4-6 wheat bagels a day. i have just been waking up these past few mornings really not wanting to eat like i should.

be a man...just eat it, you are eating to live, not living to eat.

I just switch it up. Just trying out new spices can make a world of difference.
I could not possibly eat the same shit all the time, eating is a huge part of my life and I love to eat. So I make sure my meals taste good
Life is WAY to short to eat boring food.

Just have some food what really would make your mouth water, this is what i do after months of eating clean, normally last for me around 5 days before going back to eating clean again, it always seems to jump start everything going again

Wow, if you are eating bagels and pasta and getting bored, you'd really hate my approach.
That sounds like a cheat day to me.

u have to find ways to spice it up imo. Just tonight i figured out a new and better way to enjoy my sweet potatoes.
my girl always makes me a sweet potato pie w/ splenda on my cheat days and i love them. absolutly love them. So i got to thinking why the filling in the pie taste so much better than just putting splenda on my usual sweet potatoes. So she told me how she cooked them and bam i can make sweet potatoe pie filling w/o the pie crust.
throw em in a microwave for 10 minutes. take em out and peel off the skin, then add egg whites and splenda and put them in the oven for 10-15 minutes and it taste wonderful and is 100% healthy.

as far as the canned chicken, i have to ask why? canned goods oftentimes has preservatives, which are no good for you. fresh is always best. i just get 3lbs of chicken, toss it in the oven, then split it up into 6 seperate equally portioned bags and i'm good for 6 days. it's easy and it's high-quality protein. there's plenty of seasonings and sauces you can find to toss on it with little or no extra calories.
i understand peoples intentions behind saying you're eating for nutrition and not for pleasure, but cmon guys. you have to do something to keep your sanity while on the strict eating habits most of us are. personally i think those not enjoying anything they eat are suffering needlessly.
what i do when i start to get sick of a particular food is find something i can replace it with that has an equal nutritional value. also, if it's carbs you're replacing, make sure they're low GI or at least med GI and take down a slower digesting protein along with it first to slow the digestion of the carbs. i just started getting sick of eggs, so i switched them up for tuna that has the same amount of protein the eggs did. only thing i lost there was some cholesterol and biotin, and i get the biotin from my multi's as well, so i'm good to go.
there's plenty of things you can eat while maintaining a good diet, so you don't have to focus on just a couple things. feel free to round it out or switch things up to keep your sanity and be able to enjoy it a bit. we suffer enough in the gym, we don't need to suffer when we eat as well. as i said, just make sure that when you switch things up, you're keeping the macros about the same.

okay, its not as much as the canned chicken (cause i eat it easily) as the wheat bagels and wheat pasta. Ive tried sweet potatoes with butter and they were a no go. What else do you guys do for carbs?

You can buy brown rice prepackaged, I use "uncle ben's brown rice", takes 90seconds to heat it up.

Use "real" chicken whenever possible.. canned chicken like mentioned above is full of preservatives and loads of sodium.. It should not be the staple of anyones diet.. one of those foods that you eat if absolutely nothing else is available.. kinda like supplements

This forum rocks!!!
I just have to re-dedicate myself to eating. That's the answer. I"m 6'2' 205 but as you all know it's like night and day when you dont eat properly. Catabolism sucks!!
Discipline to hit the gym is easy........buts it's that food issue
