Cook them with water (and as a tip, cooking in the microwave is SO much easier than boiling water)... you don't want to add milk regardless if you're lactose intolerant or not.
Splenda, cinnamon, blueberries, sugar free syrup and different combinations of those ingredients make my oats much better than plain.

Dude this is easy. I grind my oats in a coffee grinder and I mix it straight in with the protien shake and drink it. I use water as well.

I put some Smuckers Simply 100% Fruit Spread in my oats. Much better than the sugar free stuff. And the sugar free stuff aint really sugar free anway.

Two ways for me
#1I"ll either use quaker oats boiled with water then mix wit splenda and cinnamin,to really make it tasty i'll get some low sugar polaner preserves prefferibly rassberry take two tbls and melt it in the microwave then pour on top ,awesome
#2 i'll buy the shoprite instant 3 boxes for 2$ which is not only convenient but very cheap and just mix with hot water and splenda and enjoy, this ia a good suggestion if your out somewhere and you need to keep your meal frequency up.

Is there a reason for boiling your oats vs. throwing them in the microwave? I've always found it much easier to nuke them while my egg whites are cooking.
