10 Dieting Tips
10 Diet Tips:
Here are just some diet tips that I find extremely helpful when cutting, take out of this what you want:
1. Diet soda has come a long long way. Try picking up some good diet soda to help ease the carb cravings
not sure if everyone can get the following brands but I have found them to be quite good:
-Stewarts Diet Orange and Cream
-Stewarts Diet Root Beer
-Barg's Diet Root Beer
-Sunkist Diet Orange
-Diet Cherry Coke
And my personal favorite, Iced Tea with Sweet n Low. I actually prefer Sweet n Low to sugar when drinking Iced tea.
2. Use some Parmesan Cheese, its amazing how much flavor this can pack and too be honest there not that much fat at all.
3. Use stocks to flavor your meals. I cook with chicken and beef stock all the time. They have no macro's at all and provide some nice flavor.
For example, a nice pro/carb meal is sautéed chicken w/ garlic and onions with a side of rice. Cook the rice in chicken stock and flavor with salt pepper
and parmesan cheese. You can also use stock to replace fat for cooking so your food will not stick to the pan.
4. Do not be afraid to use honey. Its use as a sweetener is amazing, not to mention its health benefits.
For example a nice meal that I have as a pre workout meals is Plain Yogurt, Honey, Granola and a Whey shake. Simply fantastic.
5. Do not be afraid of dairy, it may bloat some and to those people I'm sorry. But overall dairy is fantastic. Great source of extremely low GI carbs as well as protein.
You'd be surprised a how good a shake can be with some skim rather than water. Want to avoid added sugars of yogurt, get plain and sweeten it yourself!
It's that easy.
6. Do not fear sugar, people hear the word sugar and freak. If you eat straight up plain sugar all day, yes there will be some issues.
However if you use a bit of sugar from time to time, will it kill you absolutely not. Perfect example is my morning Oats. I use make oats w/ skim and some brown sugar.
Now I add the sugar into my macros for that meal, 1 Tbs of sugar, eaten with the rest of my meal there's no issues at all and makes the oats very enjoyable.
7. From time to time check out some frozen meals. Just last night I found a Lean Cuisine, that had some really good macro's/
The ingredient profile was good and I bought one to sample. I have to say I was impressed, this should not be your staple but they can really come through in a pinch.
Just make sure to check the ingredient and macro's, I spent maybe 20min doing this, but it was worth it.
8. Pasta, not as bad as you think. Actually if cooked properly, al dente (which by the way is the only way to cook it) its fairly low GI.
Now pasta is dense calorie wise so be sure to measure out your pasta when cooking. BTW Barilla makes a fantastic pasta with enriched with ***** 3's.
9 Check to see if a local community college or a local culinary school offers a cooking class. These usually cost about $200-$300 per course but will repay themselves 10 fold.
10. Please, please remember that carbs before bed do not magically make you fat. They do not somehow defy the laws of thermodynamics.
If you are in a caloric deficit then you are in caloric deficit, no way to alter that. I see this question too many times, so I thought I'd throw it on here."without your word you're a shell of a man" - Tupac

chicken stock is the bones and giblets of a chicken boiled in water with various vegetables and herbs. The broth is filtered and the liquid is called the "stock". Often used as a base for soups and sauces ect. Simialr scenario with beef, fish. Also known as boullion (not sure on the spelling there!)

Good list but it seems most of the things listed are for ppl who need the cheats etc.. these things wouldn't apply to someone trying to diet down into the competition range of BF.
