    cutting: calorie question

i have just worked out my BMR at 1902 calories per day. i am 21 years old, 5'9, 182-190lbs with 12-15% bodyfat. am currently cutting, and from this im guessing that i will need to restrict my diet at around 1400 calories each day. surely this is too low? any advice or insight would be great

take your BMR number (1902) and multiply it by your activity level. They give you a certain number for how many days per week you are physically active.

I don´t know. You look big if that´s you in the avatar. I have read somewhere that guys shouldn´t eat less than 2000 kcals.
IMO how big your kcals intake should be depends on what your BMR is and how active you are. I think you should eat about 500 kcals less than you burn.

Can you explaine about activity levels. What should you multiply your BMR with if you do powerwalking for an hour and have a lazy job/or if you have a physical job. Or do you know a website where it explains it and shows what you should multiply.

I multiply by how many days I workout so for me, I workout 4 days/week so I multiply my BMR by 1.55.
