Too much protein from whey shakes?

    All,
General question about whey protein. I have found a protein shake that I actully like the taste of.(Isopure Chocolate). I have been downing like 4-5 shakes a day and was wondering if this is harmful, helpful, or anything else. I also take it protein from chicken, eggs, steak, and all the other protein enriched goodies, but I am in the habit of downing these shakes.....Any advice or do's and dont's?

Some people agree more whole food..
Some swear by shakes..Depends on how much sugar and fat are in them..etc..
I think you gotta find what works best for yourself..
I think one or two shakes is plenty..Unless need more protein while bulking Just my opinons though..

I wouldnt get in a habit of having a bunch of shakes a day. Once I get in the habit of relying on shakes..i.e. sleeping an xtra 30 mins and having a shake as opposed to waking up then and cooking eggwhites..its hard to break. I like to use shakes in between meals every once in a while..while bulking..so have a meal..hour later have a shake..hour later another solid meal...etc. Really unneccesary..but i get bored

I would say it's ok if you have worked them into your total cals for the day and they dont throw your macros out. If you are just guessing your diet or having them as extras then I would say that is a bad idea and you need to sit down and sort your diet out.

Exactly...I'm like most and prefer real food as much as possible and rely only on shakes for pre and pwo...but like stated above....it can work.
