    really need some advice

    I wanted to know if there is a method for kickstarting your metabolism. I have to admit that I have never followed a good diet when I am not training and that has really hurt me when I want to put on lean mass. It was ok when I was a teen, but now I am in my 30's and I can't get away with that crap anymore. It seems that no matter how few calories I take in, I still manage to pack on the wrong kind of weight.

    I would also like to know how to go about learning what my maintenance calorie level is. I know in theory it sounds simple....eat X amount of cals and if you gain, then decrease the cals, if you lose, then increase. But how do you actually quantify that? Is it done by weighing yourself everyday? every week?

    Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Dude I think this depends entirely on what kind of workout and cardio you have been doing. You want to lay that out for us ? Also what are your stats ?
