First Cutting Diet...Critique please
Hey everyone, this is my first post on AR. I'm looking for any advice and feedback on my planned cutting diet. This will be my first real cutting diet. I am currently 23 yrs old, 5'10 260lbs. Sedentary up until today. My goal is to get back to 195 @ about 13% bf My plan looks like this;
6:30am- Cardio 30-40 mins
7:30- 10 Egg Whites 170 cal/36 pro carb/2/1
1 cup Oatmeal – 297 cal/11 pro/55 carb/5 fat
Totals:Cal-467/ Pro- 47/ Carb- 57/ Fat-6
10:00- Protein shake 2 tbsp flax
470 cals/ 44 protein/ 13 carb/ 27 fat
1:00- Chicken breast 210 cals, 43 protein
Sweet potato 180 cals/ 40 carb/ 4 pro
Totals: cals-390/ pro-47/ carb-40
2:30- Work-out
3:30-PWO shake 50g whey 100g Dex/malto
Calories-450 Pro-50 Carb-100
5:00- Chicken Breast, Broccoli, 1 cup brown rice
Cals- 410 Pro-44 Carb- 42
8:00- Can Tuna 220 cals/0 carb/ 40 pro/ 5 fat
Natty pb 210 cals/ 6 carb/ 8 protein/ 16 fat
Macro Totals for day:
Calories:2,617 Protein:280 Carbs: 258 Fats: 64
I see that my protein seems kind of low but im not sure where i can add more. Based on my weight 260*1.5 i shoud be eating atleast 390grams of protein. Seems like a lot to me. Any and all advice/critizism more than welcome. ThanksLast edited by VictorsMan; 01-08-2007 at 10:07 AM.

I'd say it is looking pretty solid, bro. The only thing I would suggest is maybe lowering the carbs slightly and upping the EFAs.
I, personally, switch my PWO carb source to something other than DEX/MALTO when I am cutting. I am a big fan of a bagel with my PWO shake. This, alone, would knock down the carbs by about 45 grams.
See how your diet goes and make necessary changes when it is possible to guage results.
Also, you might want to bump up cardio to 50 mins and stay in your THR.
Gluck.

Looks ok, I would bump up the fat a bit ( some fish oil wouild be good) at 260 you might find a 2600 cal diet too restrictive.

I normally calculate a person's calories for the day off their LBM not their total bodyweight when configuring a diet. Figure how much it'll take your maintain your current muscle mass and still continue to lose Bodyfat.
What is your current Bodyfat?
