I think the best thing to do would be to aviod carbs. Maybe try to find some source of lean protein. Other members should drop by to give some more experienced advise.

All depends on what the rest of your diet throughout the day looks like. If you need something that is practically no cals I would just eat celery or lettuce but most likely you need something pro/fat so your body doesn't starve all night. I eat cottage cheese or have a pro/fat shake.

fatfree milk has more sugar than 1% cottage cheese, Thats what I go with, the Casen protien in cottage cheese is slow digesting so you body can use it longer while you sleep. I found 1% to be better than 2% or fatfree. Just my .02

If I happen to wake up feeling hungry...at times I serve up a scoop of micellar casein protein powder with at least 12-16 ounces of water. It's extremely thick in texture so you have to drink it down quick.

"Micellar casein, an extremely slow digesting and rich protein source that continues to feed your muscles long after whey proteins have dropped off. In fact, studies with this undenatured form of isolated casein protein (Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A 1997 Dec 23;94(26):14930-5) have demonstrated it to sustain steady amino acid elevations for an incredible 7 hours. It was shown to offer a strong anti-catabolic effect not noticed with fast digesting whey protein, and actually fostered a much more positive overall net protein balance in comparison."

mix up a package of sugar free/fat free pudding with 2-4 scoops of whey or casien protein with fat free milk and make your own pro pudding.

it really helps you kill sweet cravings and its a tad thick so it fills you up.
(Tip: mix skim milk with protein first into thin watery consistancy then blend with pudding mix.
