    Diet Critique

    Hello everyone,

I am thinking I will get a better response to a critique on my diet if I post it here instead. I am the originator of the 4 month transformation (up or down a few threads).

I am currently weighing in at 210, 6", 19 years old, male.

    Macros are Cal/Pro/Fat/Carb

    Meal 1: 7:30
    Egg, Oatmeal, AllBran
    434/21.6/17.5/41.8

    Meal 2: 11:00
    Almonds
    169/6.3/15/5.5

    Meal 3: 1:30
    Salad, Chicken
    375/70.5/8.1/0

    Meal 4: 4:00
    Whey, Oatmeal
    348/39/5.3/33.8

    Workout @ 5:20
    Cardio @ 6:00

    Meal 5 (PWO) @ 6:45 - earliest I can
Shake consisting of mixed berries, banana, why, anpb
    543/38.3/10.7/58.5

    Meal 6 (PreBed) @ 11:00
    FF Cottage Cheese, ANPB, Whey
    240/31/8.5/13

    Total Calories: 2109
    Total Protein: 206.7
    Total Fat: 65.1
    Total Carbs: 152.9

Goal is general fitness, good core, lose a good amount of weight (mostly fat hopefully) - want to be around 170 after 4 months.

Weight training 5 times a week and cardio 5 times a week after workout.

    Thanks guys.

    Bryan

Have tried cardio in the morning. Did it for my 12 week transformation. I am on a co-op workterm right now, and cardio in the morning just isn't feasible.

Instead I'll be doing cardio immediately after weights - same effect as cardio on an empty stomach.

cals seem to be a tad on the low side bcap...I ran your #'s quick and your cal totals are equal to your basal metabolic rate

If this is similar to how you ran it last time than I would def give it a thumbs up due to the success you had...if you find yourself dropping weight too quick just up the cals by few hundred

    good luck bro...ill be watching!

This is a bit different than last time, although last time was a totally different living style (I was living at home).

I think if I can stick to this Monday - Friday, Saturday eat healthy but not totally strict, Sunday, same as Saturday but a bit more strict, I'll be good to go.

Have you looked into carb cycling at all bcap? I'm starting my second go around with cutting in about 2 weeks and once i begin every sunday I'm going to increase my carb intake by about 25% (and subsequently drop my protein intake for the day to keep cals at a constant level) as a way of not allowing my body to "get used" to the diet...it seems like with what you have lined up, saturday would be a perfect day to do something like that

I haven't looked into carb cycling, no.

Care to explain a bit? In the meantime, I'll do some research on it. Is it a good idea to carb cycle on a day I can't workout though?

    From my understanding...
carb cycling is a way to prevent your body from getting adjust to your diet. For example if you stay on the same diet aimed at dropping bf for an extended period of time, your body will become acclimated to the routine subsequently lowering the effectiveness of its ability to shed the fat. Carb cycling is a way to keep your body on its toes, not allowing it to become acclimated to your diet. I like to think of it as a "good" cheat day.

*someone correct me if im wrong*
