Peanut Butter Salmonella Outbreak
Looks like some Peter Pan and Great Value peanut butters are salmonella tainted. Check it out to make sure that your PB is not contaminated.

damn.. my 1 year old daughter got sick as hell earlier this week, the SAME DAY we fed her a few bite of peanut butter and jelly (doc said to give her more fats to get her weight up and for brain development).. that evening, she vomited and had diarrhea all night - we didn't know what to do
then, on Tues - i had a PB&J on wheat, and had stomach cramps and the runs all night long...
daughter threw up again last night.. but otherwise she's in good spirits - lau***ng playing...
then i read this thread. I say to myself "was it Peter Pan" got up a minute ago, checked the brand.. read the article, read the serial number
2111 - ain't that a bitch? Frickin' Salmonella.
So now i have to call the pediatrician tomorrow and get some antibiotics for the little one... have to be safe, she's only like 18 lbs anyway.
And the screwy thing is, it was the FIRST time we tried PB for her, and probably the first PB&J i've had in over a year.
Some factory working wiping their ass and mishandling the peanuts. F#@kers.

A person infected with the Salmonella enteritidis bacterium usually has fever, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea beginning 12 to 72 hours after consuming a contaminated food or beverage. The illness usually lasts 4 to 7 days, and most persons recover without antibiotic treatment. However, the diarrhea can be severe, and the person may be ill enough to require hospitalization.
The elderly, infants, and those with impaired immune systems may have a more severe illness. In these patients, the infection may spread from the intestines to the blood stream, and then to other body sites and can cause death unless the person is treated promptly with antibiotics.
