You add a lot of good fats to your diet, but the bad side is that they are a commercial supplement, and are not nearly as good as eating the real deal.

IML pretty much nailed it. There's also the price factor. If you absolutely can't get it from food, it's better than nothing.

...and there are plenty of oils out there that provide all the fats you need without the nasty taste. Try Udo's and a coconut oil supplment.

When it comes to suppliments, to me, the pros of taking fish oil/flax oil in combination with a multivit/mineral is that it fills any gaps in your diet, while the pros are virtually nil. You are correct that having it from real dietary sources is good, but some fish out there is polluted with mercury, dioxins and other toxins. And sometimes your appitite isnt there, or its expensive to get fresh high quality produce every day... So, my advice is, eat fresh whole foods as much as you can, but pop the pills as an insurance system. It will never hurt, and being a body builder probably places you under greater demands than most people, so that makes meeting all your micronutrient requiments that much harder.

^ I think you mean the cons are virtually nil.
