I am 23 years old and have been diagnosed as ADD since I was young. I had taken ritalin for a while, then quit. Started again in college and then stopped again after freshman year. It made me entirely too anxious, but that's irrelevant. Recently I have been prescribed adderall. Since taking it, i have no side effect assosciated with anxiety, but I completely lose my apetite. Like all day. I never don't eat, but my caloric intake has really cut back. For example; today- no breakfast, 1:30pm protein shake, (310 calories, 43 grams protein and then i have dinner. Usually a steak and sweet potato or fish and asparagus or chicken and some vegetable. Then around 10PM I have another of the same shake. The result is a caloric intake of around 1200/day.
I had surgery on both of my legs for a disorder called compartment syndrome and since have been advised against running. Instead I have started doing push-ups with very slow form, using those grips that put you about 6 inches off the ground. I started with 4 sets of 25 and moved up to 8 sets of 25. I also do bicep curls ,light weight (17.5lbs), and hammer curls 4 sets of 15 each. And then in between do those slow crunches in which you raise your knees and contract with your upper body so that your elbows and knees touch (sorry i have no idea what these excercises are called). 4 sets of 15. I try to do these like a circuit training, moving one station to the next.
I have noticed good results, vascularity, a little tone, a lot of weight loss, but is it healthy?
