Thread: when to drink protein....

when to drink protein....
99% of the time people say Post work out immediately consume ur protein and eat a meal after that
but the question i had was, if i am training two body parts a day..for ex Chest and Bi, would it be better to start drinkning shake, while starting the second body part? or just wait till im all done??
ALso, drink protein shake after or before doing some speed walking, after the whole workout?

I have a friend that does that, he starts on his PWO right before his LAST set of whatever that day,
as far as cardio its up to you, I like to make sure I consume some type of protein before cardio...
after wards Ill either do a shake or scrambled eggs whatever and then an hour later a full meal,

MFT81...you think with all that protein in my system before my cardio/speedwalk, will hell me achieve fat loss?

so why do i do it on my sunday morning sessions, i dunno I guess better to be safe than sorry, plus I take a hell of a fat burner before and if I take it on an empty stomach I feel really nausceous.
If I could afford it here is what Id prefere to do.
ON Workout days:
BCAA's before hand with pre-workout supps. cardio 15-25mins after lifting
followed by 2-3 scoops of protein w/a full meal an hr later.
ON Cardio days:
BCAA's and Fat-Burner 30 mins before hand
cardio 45-50 mins at a brisk/fast walking pace
2-3 scoops of pro w/a full meal an hr later.
this would cover all angles and probably lead to better results faster. IMO

Also on cardio days, I try to do it empty stomach in AM on sundays but during the week Its in the evening and I eat my normal diet of Pro/Carbs/Fat throughout the day, some people get a bit over zelous saying that the carbs before hand will reduce your fat burning ability but I dont belive it,
ive got great results doing both so to each his own......

Good post mft...a lot of people think in order to lose fat, you arent supposed to eat any fats, but actually ur body will hold on to that fat bc it thinks ur lacking it, and therefore you wont burn any, so i think if i take the shkae after w/o and rright before during my speed walk session, it should be ok..

make sure after ur workout and cardio days u take in some simple carbs with ur protein shake mix it together then an hour eat a full meal like mft81 said. on cardio days if ur afraid of losing muscle take in just a protein shake no carbs when u wake up, then 30-60 minutes later do ur cardio then protien simple carb shake after cardio.

maybe consume shake before cardio but after your weight training.
if you are really worried about muscle loss and so on.
but i workout and do my cardio then have my shake.
i dont mind...
