drinking raw eggs - take a look

"It is completely safe to drink our Liquid Egg Whites raw as every batch has been salmonella tested. Drinking normal eggs raw is useless due to avidin content but this is neutralised by the heat treatment we perform on every batch of Liquid Egg Whites."

This was off the link provided. check it out and tell me what you think. Are they lying just to sell their product or is this true?

    http://www.myprotein.co.uk/mp-max/li...id-egg-whites/

    Any help appreciated. T.

What the deal with Avidin, I just read a few sites about it and don't fully understand the correlation between eggs and avidin and biotin? Maybe you can explain the relevance of it to me.
    Thank you,

if they are pastuerized they don't need to be cooked. if they aren't they need to be cooked.

well i must of had about 20 in the past two days and i feel fine.

But me taking them, is it of any benificiary to me at all? i.e. boosting protein intake.

or would i need to cook them/buy special liquid egg whites like on the link i have provided

Bro eating raw eggs is not the way to go! Although very rare ( i.e. once every 42 years of your life), their is a chance of salmonella poisoning with consuming raw eggs! There is no protein benefit from eating raw eggs in fact cooking them can make protein more readily available to your body because it can decrease the net energy the body must expend during digestion.

As long as the eggs are pasteurized (such as egg beathers or Liquid egg whites) your good to go. If i am crunched for time i usually just drink these from the container, they actually taste like water IMO.
