    Sugar Alcohol, some info/feedback please

ok so i was at walmart last night and i was doing my usual shopping of foods to eat for the week, when i came across something that caught my eye

Smuckers™ Sugar Free, Fat Free Splenda Caramel

i was like wow!! sugar free?! Fat free?!

so i look at the back and the amount per serving is

    2 tblsp (2 tablespoons!! wow!!)

    calories 90
    fat 0
    carb 0
    sugar 0
    protein 0

    im like, "wtf?!"

but then i saw something that got me thinking

    sug. alcho. 14g

    "ummm....... what?"

wth is sugar alchohol? im currently looking it up on wikipedia right now

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sugar_alcohol

but i still want some down to earth, lamens terms, people who have experience with it description of this stuff

is this ok? can i eat it and not worry about it being fatty?

the reason i ask is because i just ate my last meal, i just finished working out, so i had my ham and cheese wheat bread sandwich with my protein mix drink and i had a banana with 2 tblsps of this caramel stuff.

it was soooooo good !!! so that why im worried, can it be THIS GOOD and be ok for me?!

so yea, if yo uguys would give me some feedback regarding this "sugar alcohol" id greatly appreciate it!!

    thanks!!

If you're bulking, I'd use it sparingly to get rid of those sugar cravings. Cutting, only on cheat days.

Personally, I can't have too much of the stuff. It upsets my stomach like no other.

It occurs natuaraly in small amounts in fruits and starches. It's loaded into crap foods in unnatural amounts in order to avoid the carb tag. Sorbitol, xylitol, and lactilol are alcohol sugars.

It's supposed not to spike your insulin levels like real sugars but calories are still calories and if its not from protein, then it is still useless calories that could impede cutting if you consume too much of it.
