Rice is great. Dont know why people think you cant have white rice. I would eat it all the time if I could. Especially if you are doing a lean bulk go for it. Hell I would use it during cutting too. Maybe not pre contest but its all good by me the rest of the time.

Is brown rice overrated? What are the benefits of eating white rice over brown rice and vice versa? Aren't they pretty close on the GI scale?

Brown rice has more vitamins and minerals. Also is lower GI (but not actually that much lower, 55 vs 64). Once you factor the glycemic load, the difference is even smaller. Brown rice also takes much longer to cook!

I dont eat Brown rice anymore. That shit is just gross to me now. I'll live with the higher GI.

Yeah, don't see nothing wrong with white rice..I eat it once in a while when I'm sick of brown rice... In fact white rice is supposed to have better GI profile than most whole wheat breads out there

White rice tastes far better, if the rest of your diet is in check the color of your rice is not gonna make any drastic difference.
