    drinking raw eggs

Personally I have had it with the amount of work and wanting to puke every morning from eating my 12 cooked eggs. I am now just going to drink them raw. I eat 10 whites and two yokes. Does anybody know how likely it is for me to get salmonella doing this. does anybody else do this. It would really suck if I got salmonella mid cycle and screwed everything up. any thoughts on this much appreciated.

The odds of getting salmonella from an egg are 1/30,000. So if you're drinking 12 every day, it is likely that sometime in the next 6 years you'll get salmonella. Could be tomorrow, could be 3 years from now.

if the eggs are pasturized, your fine.
now, as far as getting all the nutrients, well, thats another debate

"the protein in raw eggs are only 51% bio-available, whereas a cooked egg is nearer 91% bio-available, meaning the protein of cooked eggs is nearly twice as absorbable as the protein from raw eggs."

That really sucks so now I have to drink twenty eggs a morning. I just drank my first egg a minute ago and it wasn't the easiest thing to do Its going to take me a while to be able to work up to twenty. they dont taste bad but the texture upset my stomach a bit.

lol just cook them man... if you drink 20 every day that makes your probability of getting salmonella twice as much... so within the next 3 years youre most likely going to get it. I know a guy who ended up in the hospital and had to get part of his intestine removed. Lost a shitload of muscle. Not worth it IMO.

odds dont change with every egg you eat. 1 in 30,000 chance is still a one in 30,000 chance no matter how many eggs you eat.

Right... but the timeframe that it's likely to happen shortens by the number of eggs you eat. If you eat 30,000 in 6 years, its likely that sometime in that 6 years it'll happen. If you eat twice as many eggs (30,000 in 3 years), the odds of getting salmonella every day are doubled.

Get high quality or vaccinated eggs... In the UK there are lion-quality eggs which dont have salmonella as they are vaccinated and lab tested. I would go with something simular where you live. I personally dont skimp on eggs, I like the best quality free range stuff. After all, if your eating alot of it, you dont want it to be crap...

I have 4 egg whites and two whole blended with two scoops of chocolate ON whey and maybe alittle natty peanut butter. Been doing that for around 4 years and never had a problem but I dont eat them on the weekends like that I have time to cook em then.

You can't absorb all the nutrition if the eggs are raw: the human digestive tract requires the egg protein to be rearranged molecularly to digest and absorb properly. In addition you can get salmonella... as said before tomorrow or years from now. Or never.

drinking raw eggs is so "old Skool"
Have you been watching Rocky movies again? (jk)

Raw eggs are not worth the risk, plus they make me puke. Why not make a quick omlette/scrambled eggs, etc?

Yep... you're losing half your protein if you drink it raw, if you eat it you're only losing 9%.
