Lipolysis is the breakdown of fat stored in fat cells. During this process, free fatty acids are released into the bloodstream and circulate throughout the body. Ketones are produced, leading to the process of ketosis. Testing strips are available which can sometimes measure whether or not this process is taking place.

This reference is from a website i came across.Does anyone know where i could buy testing strips to measure if my body is in the ketosis process?

Theres a difference bro, a state of ketosis occurs when one breaks down fat for energy you are correct... but those ketones get burned up almost instantly if your not on a ketogenic or cyclical ketogenic diet.... so unless your planning on putting yourself in a state of dietary ketosis.... which is insanely catabolic... the strips are a moot point...

If your really in ketosis your breath will smell like acetone, diabetics can sometimes suffer from this because they have no way of getting glucose into there cells. Without carbs the last steps of fatty acid oxidation can not take place due to a lack of metabolic precursors supplied by the krebs cycle. Ketone bodies begin to build up over time from not being processed. If your breath smells like you have been drinking all night long. That is your best indicator of a ketoic state.
