    Okra..

I hearby Declare Okras to be my favorite vegetable.

I just downed a hearty 1/2 lb...and then skimmed over to calorie-count.com to figure out just how much that changed my macronutrient totals for the meal they were a part of.

    Influence?

    Almost nil.

    I did the calculations...

I'd have to eat a whole pound of okra to get 20g of carbs.

And that's total carbs I'm talking here.

Net carbs however, is 55% less.

You read that right: OKRAS ARE 55% FIBER

    Hm... slimy goodness.

I can see what i'll be gorging myself with this contest prep.

No hunger pangs this time around

I just boil/steam it with a little salt added... Drain it...and gulp it.

A side of meat..and a heap of rice underneath...and I'm good to go.

Just now i had 2 grilled fish burgers patties... and a 1/2 lb of steamed okra.

50 gr protein; 16 gr fat; 20 gr carbs.

    Yum.

ugh, no offense, but boiled okra doesn't sound appetizing. I think okra is one of those foods that is only good if you fry it.
