The sugars in fruit do add up, so they're not the best option for fat loss. However, you could be doing much worse.
Cardio Cardio Cardio, the fat will roll off.

During a cut(same as losing body fat) you want to stay away from the simple carbs(fruits) and stick with veggies(and other sources) for the complex carbs. You are trying to keep your blood sugar stable all day. Also, extra carbs are not needed and can be stored as fat. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

thats not terrible.. but between a banana and apple you're looking at between 25-40g of sugar (depending on the size)

Every meal should include a lean protein. Just a banana for breakfast wont do, neither will the apple as a snack later. They are ok to add with a lean protein source, but not by themselves. You want to eat 5-6 light quality meals a day.

would egg whites in the morning. A few turkey slices for a snack. chicken or beef or some kinda lean meat for lunch. turkey or ham slices again for a snack and some meat for dinner with a veggie side be more ideal or work better for me?

you need to consume at minimum 1.5 gram of protein per lb of body weight. So if you weigh 200 lbs, you need to take in 300 grams of protein a day. It doesnt have to be exact and can be a little under or over, like 280-320 range is prolly fine.

NEED to consume 1.5? And where did this magic number come from? He even said he not worried about lbm...so you think anyone in the world trying to shed bodyfat needs to eat like a bodybuilder? Sorry but you are lacking severly in nutritional knowledge if you think 1.5g per pound of body weight is what each person needs to do.

Just because this is steroid .com doesnt mean everyone wants to be a bodybuilder or that everyone uses AAS.

My advice for the thread starter is to see a nutritionist or use an online calculator (for a rough guess) at your basal metabolic rate. From there you can cut calories through diet and cardio to utilize more calories each day than you take in through diet so you are at a caloric defecit.

Eating 5-6 meals of roughly the same amount of calories spaced evenly throughout the day is the best bet. And trying to get a steady amount of protein through eadch meal is important. You should never have a meal consisting of zero protein.

I eat apples and pears when i cut like crazy. I like the added fiber and minimal impact sugar due to the sugar being in the form of fructose, which has been shown time and time again to have very little impact on insulin spikes. Fiber is a must when eating fruit for cutting as it almost works to speed up your metabolism and correlates to a lower GI overall

Doesn't fruit replenish glycogen in the liver? Thought I remember that it replenishes glycogen somewhere other than your normal glycogen store from say oatmeal or yams. Don't flame if I am way off here just been wanting to clarify this.

1.5 is a common number that is thrown around. The importance of my post was just to give him something to work with. Thats why I added you didnt have to be exact. I am more comfortable in the 1.0-1.5 range. Its important he has a good intake of daily protein. Im sorry, but to shed body fat it is important to support your lean body mass. The higher your lean body mass the more calories you shed daily. I.E burn fat. Without the proper intake of food your body becomes catabolic. Please tell me if there is some new way of thinking and I am wrong.

^^^not wroong but VERY general and the protein consumption varies greatly from subject to subject. Personally I can cut with around 180gm protein and I usually sit around 215-220, bulking I get around 400gms and I do get fat. the most important thing is TIMING and adequate protein consumption. This magic number of protein grams will vary from subject to subject based on a whole slew of factors, when talking cutting I get very anal, its the only way to be. One must listen to his/her body and react accordingly. I have burned plenty of adipose tissue and retained muscle using 170gm protein at 212lbs. I was taking winny and test and drinking amino acids as well as eating every hour, the important thing is the frequncy of meals and the timing of those balanced meals, th other factors that come in to play are vast but less important, one of those factors of a bit more importance is how well you can synthesize this protein, again going back to timing as well as whatever supplementation you may be using.
