protein 1.5 x LB
Hi everyone, just that while searching i find people with huge amounts of proteins in their diets , approximating protein intake the average is more like 4-5grams/Lb LBM
So is this needed, i thought it was like 1.5-2g/Lb LBM, or is the juice causing increased need of proteins?
BTW most of the diets were bulking diets, but still, is that much needed, and what about cutting diets, will 2gram/Lb suffice on juice?

Yah. 1.5 g per pound of lbm is a good rule of thumb. For me 2g is a lot, but I know it works for others.
As far as 4 - 5 g per lb, that's a whole hell of a lot... I'm not gonna say it's too much for everyone, but unless you're eating small meals every 2 - 3 hours all day and night and working out like a freak plus a wheelbarrow full of juice, i think it's overkill and just plain unhealthy.

^^^^ Agree 4-5g/lb that is a lot, i have an intake between 1.5 and 2 spaced out in meals every 2 hours with casein proteins (slow release) being taken in the evening to supply while sleeping

imo, you'd be askin for internal damage with that much protein, far too excessive

I don't know about that....
If you weight 350 pounds and you're 50% fat, you don't want to be eating 500 + Grams of protein a day...

4-5 grams of protein per lb of bodyweight would be extremely taxing on your kidneys. I usually stay around 1.5g per lb. And yes, people do up it while on cycle, do to the fact that you have an enhanced level of protein synthesis, but I think anything over 2g per lb is a waste in my opinion.
I have gotten into arguments with college professors who say its a scientific fact that your body can only utilize something like 0.76g per kg of bodyweight. And that the amount that us bodybuilders take in is a waste and detrimental to our health and kidney function. When I give references to everyone I know in the industry and everything I have ever been taught saying 1.5-2g per lb, they say that is just handed down locker room talk throughout the generations and none of it is based on scientific evidence.
