Opinions of diet plan?
Well about 10 days ago i figured my maintenance calories using 2 different formulas which were : 1-total body plan book formula & 2-harris benedict formula.I calculated both as my activity levels as sedentary even though i am fairly active just to be on safe side cause i rather underestimate a little than overestimate the calories.I weighed 196lbs in morning right after using bathroom but before breakfast on tues 5/12/09.
Total body plan estimate for someone at 195lbs sedentary was 2820
Harris benedict formula at that same weight and sedentary was 2324
I decided id meet those estimates in the middle with this diet :
8 daily meals
1- 1 cup oats,1.5 boiled eggs,3 boiled egg whites
2- 1 cup oats,1.5 boiled eggs,3 boiled egg whites
3- 1 cup oats,1.5 boiled eggs,3 boiled egg whites
4- 1cup rice,1.5boiled eggs,3 boiled egg whites
5- 1cup rice,1.5boiled eggs,3 boiled egg whites
6- 1cup rice,1.5 boiled eggs,3 boiled egg whites
7- 1cup cottage cheese
8- 1cup cottage cheese
3 cups oats 450cal - 9fat - 81carb - 15pro
3 cups white rice 615cal - 0fat - 135carb - 12pro
9 whole boiled eggs 693cal - 45fat - 9carb - 54pro
18 boiled egg whites 288cal - 0fat - 0carb - 72pro
2 cups cottage cheese 480cal - 20fat - 20carb - 52pro
Grand totals = 2526cal - 74fat - 245carbs - 205pro
percentages = 26.3%fat - 38.7%carb - 32.4%pro = 97.4%
The following tuesday after following this diet i jumped on the scale on tues 5/19/09 after using bathroom but before breakfast and it showed me at 192lbs.The scales i own arent top of the line so its reading might not be all too accurate but im not gonna look again until next tuesday.Anyways this week after the positive scale reading and to kill hunger at bedtime to combat waking up starving to eat latenight snacks i added 2 more cups of oats a day and new diet looks like this :
8 daily meals
1- 1 cup oats,1.5 boiled eggs,3 boiled egg whites
2- 1 cup oats,1.5 boiled eggs,3 boiled egg whites
3- 1 cup oats,1.5 boiled eggs,3 boiled egg whites
4- 1cup rice,1.5boiled eggs,3 boiled egg whites
5- 1cup rice,1.5boiled eggs,3 boiled egg whites
6- 1cup rice,1.5 boiled eggs,3 boiled egg whites
7- 1cup cottage cheese,1 cup oats
8- 1cup cottage cheese,1 cup oats
5 cups oats 750cal - 15fat - 135carb - 25pro
3 cups white rice 615cal - 0fat - 135carb - 12pro
9 whole boiled eggs 693cal - 45fat - 9carbs - 54pro
18 boiled egg whites 288cal - 0fat - 0carbs - 72pro
2 cups cottage cheese 480cal - 20fat - 20carbs - 52pro
Grand totals = 2826cal - 80fat - 299carbs - 215pro
percentages = 25.4%fat - 42.3%carb - 30.4%pro = 98.1%
After i have lost the weight i want i plan to use this diet for bulking & cutting future diets. The only difference of course in each will be quanities and calories. My question is are these foods and percentages good enough whether cutting or bulking as long as your calories are right for either?

Seriously! Couldn't have said it better myself. Eggs are great and you should definitely continue to include them in your diet, but part of planning a good diet is to include balance and variety, not gonna be doing that solely with eggs. There are plenty of lean protein options for you to explore, chicken, fish, turkey, london broil...

Well eggs semed the cheapest and easist way to go to get the proteins i would need.I buy them in a 15dozen box for about $13.50 at sams club and it yeilds about 126 grams protein a dayin eggs.I am perfectly satisfied just eating those 4 foods in my diet above if they alone can be sufficient to build muscle?
After i run out of the eggs i have this week im gonna discontinue using them and replace them with cottage cheese so i wouldnt have to bother boiling the eggs and peeling them anymore because to get same amount of proteins
in cottage cheese vs the eggs the price isnt to much higher and its already ready to eat and in my opinion taste better. Also itll keep longer.
I chose these foods (oatmeal, rice, eggs, & cottage cheese ) because of affordibility. The total cost for the diet a week is $28.77.
Heres my next planned diet with cottage cheese instead of eggs :
8 daily meals
1- 1 cup oats,1cup cottage cheese
2- 1 cup oats,1cup cottage cheese
3- 1 cup oats,1cup cottage cheese
4- 1 cup rice,2/3 cup cottage cheese
5- 1 cup rice,2/3 cup cottage cheese
6- 1 cup rice,2/3 cup cottage cheese
7- 1 cup oats,1cup cottage cheese
8- 1 cup oats,1cup cottage cheese
5 cups oats 750cal - 15fat - 135carb - 25pro
3 cups rice 615cal - 0fat - 135carb - 12pro
7 cups cottage cheese 1680cal - 70fat - 70carbs - 182pro
total 3045cal - 85fat - 340carb - 219pro
percentages 25.1%fat - 44.6%carb - 28.7%pro = 98.4%
weekly grocery total
16.3 - 3cup tubs or 49cups cottage cheese 31.85
35cups oats 2.24
21cups rice 1.68
cost for week = 35.77 total
Do you think this diet would be sufficient to gain muscle as long as im training intense enough?

Excellant videos and thxs for the links!I think ill make a diet of around 200+ grams protein a day now of a mixture of canned salmon, eggs, and cottage cheese and rest of calories made up in carbs with white rice and oats due to affordability.Ill also have whey and maybe maltrodextrin thrown in for during/post WO.I would like to get 300 to 400grams a day to get the 1.5 to 2grams per lb bodyweight like he recommends but its kinda to costly right now but maybe ill be able to try it soon enough.
Maybe the 200 would be plenty for just your average beg/middle trainie anyways.Pros might be only ones need that high due to 2 times a day training like he talks about?
Ill also add more variety of proteins like chicken, beef, etc. when i can afford to but for now just cottage cheese, eggs, whey,& salmon.Think this would be sufficent to gain muscle mass for the average trainee? Also he said he formed a food allergy for eating same proteins on a daily basis but sounded like his doctor just checked him for it despite he wasnt having any reactions or did i listen to that part wrong? How will you know or tell that your becoming allergic to same proteins?
Also i remember him saying he will have a video on lifting also explaining how to properly train your fast twitch muscles to increase muscle volume.Would any of you have a link to that one?
Thxs again everyone this has been a huge help!!

exactly what i was going to point out, this would definitely become a problem and if eggs are the allergy it could be very difficult for him as most protein powders are made in factories that also make egg protein, so he could have indirect allergies to go with his new born direct one for a while

Shit now yall really got me worried because about 5 days ago i awoke to a stuffed up left ear that i can only hear half as good out of at this moment. I have been writing it off to spring weather and cold temperature changes. Its still stuffed for most of the day for the last 5 days.Man i hope this isnt a food born allergy reaction like your talking about.I have been eating eggs solid like that for about 13 days now.How long does it usually take to get a food born allergy and what can i expect now if thats what it is?
