    Treadmill cardio question

how many time can you do cardio in one day without sacrificing muscles, i do 45-60 minute treadmill everyday in the morning, and lift at about 7:00 pm, can i do another hour of cardio an hour or two before i start lifting?

my goal is to loose fat but without loosing muscle.

Cardio intensity, cardio length, cardio timing, diet and bodyfat percentage will all be determining factors as to whether or not you start breaking down muscle tissue.

i guess my second question is, if i can't achieve both (losing fat and gain muscle or not loose muscle), should i concentrate on loosing the fat first and then bulk up?

the usage of HIIT is great way to shed some fat and achieve v 02 max. to say he is doing nothing with LI cardio is just wrong because fat is being used as a primary energy source and its great at preserving muscle tissue. i advise the usage of both of them to strengthen the heart muscle and accelerate fat loss.

when you say both of them, you mean the same day or alternate every other day?

he means switch it up, or when you are done for time.

but i would not do HIIT every day.

i would say lose the fat first and then work on a bulker once you are happy with the fat loss.

so then you have the canvas and your gains can be visible and clean.

where if you bulked now to make gains, since you already have fat on you all you may do is gain more fat aswell, so then it may be a hard road back in cutting ...

not all you may do gain fat.

Of course you will gain muscle, but you get what i mean with a bulker you may put on few more pounds of fat also, to add to what you all ready have.

    suggestion lose the weight first.

this is what i was thinking also, it seems that i do put muscle on but loose it later, and same thing with the fat. i will try it for a week or so and see what happens. thanks for the advise everyone.
