Issue for experts please read
Some of you know that I have a huge trouble gaining weight and I can eat pretty much whatever I want and not gain any fat, or very much muscle for that matter. anyway...
I just ate three slices of shit pizza tons of carbs and had 3 Newcastle beers, just checked my blood sugar and it is 81 on a scale from like 70-120 or something.
(I also know that alcohol may cause hypoglycemia, but I only had three and I had a ton of sugar)
If that means I have low blood sugar then I would be hypoglycemic, but I never pass out or anything. I don't have all the bad problems associated with it. But that is really low.
1. Does anyone know if I could be almost hypoglycemic and therefore not really be able to gain weight?
2. If so should I just eat more sugar?
I am contemplating buying one of these tester things but they are expensive.Last edited by Twist; 12-13-2009 at 02:59 AM. Reason: elaborate

low blood sugar requires a snack not insulin , or glucose injections.
I have already read that.

TWIST im not sure why you think you are hypo. 80 in normal range and not considered low? When sugar is present in the body insulin is released to take care of rising blood sugar,so actually i would say your body is doing its functions properly. Also even if you were to be hypo/hyper you def. would not want to go just taking sugar for no reason this would cause a worse disturbance in the force!! Maybe im not understanding what you are trying to get across, but from what i read everything is fine, except you eatin pizza and beer, why the hell would you be doin dat??

It must be nice to have a build like that and have pizza and beer, lmfao!!!
Would your doc be able to help out through blood work?
It might be just your metabolism or genetics. I know a few guys that can eat and drink everything in sight and not change at all. If I even look at a slice of pizza I feel like Im getting fat!
Im curious to find out what you come up with, brother.....

I don't think I am hypo, just wondering if I could be close. everyone else who took the test was over 130 and I was at 81... I thought that was weird. Didn't think it was something I should just ignore. I was thinking that maybe it just takes more carbs for me to get the insulin spike. But seriously that pizza was terrible must have had a ton of sugar and all kinds of stuff. this was my cheat meal and I am not dieting too strict for the next week because it doesn't do much anyway. It's not like I am gonna get fat or gain a pound.

Good insulin sensivity...another reason to increase carbs in your diet

Twist
I know that my buddy was having trouble gaining weight and it ended up being that he had trouble with his thyroid. It can work too hard sometimes and not allow the body to gain weight or can not work hard enough for some people that can't lose weight.. It may be a long shot but you never know. Have a doctor check it out and it can be fixed with medicine. I just really think that someone with that much muscle and that little fat has nowhere for the alcohol or sugar to be absorbed and hits them harder.
