Protein bars...? What are your thoughts on them?
What are your thoughts on them?
Should they be used in a diet? Are they beneficial? ect...

Most of them are filled with WAY too much crap to be of any value. Just like shakes, eat them sparingly as a SUPPLEMENT, not a meal replacement.

I think they are crap. Nothing can replace a real meal in my opinion.

Good for emergences. And most of them have high fructose corn syrup. I usually have to eat 2 and at nearly 3 bucks a pc its a waist of money. I prefer canned chicken and oat/nut bread less than 3bucks and you know what your gettn as a protein and carb source.

High fructose corn syrup is poison. I try to stay away from hfcs.

i agree that they are crap, but supreme protein makes some pretty good ones when you are in a bind

If your choices are, eat a protein bar or miss a meal. Eat the protein bar. Other than that most are really not that high in quality and definately not something you want as a staple in your diet.

Like with anything...read the label. Alot of the so called healthy Protein Bars are no more than a juiced up candy bar....loaded with fat and sugar. I like Pure Protein Bars. Taste wise they and good and not high in sugar or Fat. True only 20 grams of Protein, but if you hungary and busy with your only alternative is Micky D's.....go get a bar at a 7-11.
