Yea i've been onto it since the start of the year after someone suggested it and it tastes similar to steak! You have to have it medium rare otherwise it's to chewy.

I shot them for dog meat when I was kid, did not eat it myself.

It's not that strong of a taste.. It's very similar to steak. You can get it already marinated at coles for $16 per kg. The good thing about it is you don't have to trim the fat off like with other meats. You should try it man.

Ostarich is my favourite.

I eat kangaroo, its beautiful.
The trick is to cook it rare, medium rare at worst.
So the meat is very tender.
The meat is similar to regular meat but it is a lot more tender and soft.
slightly different in taste and has a different smell to it.
But I love the stuff.

I've eaten it once or twice, as has been said - it' tastes like normal steak if cooked properly.
It's a mental thing, if you're thinking in your head.
"Im eating kangaroo, this is going to taste awful", then you won't like it + it's going to waste weird

I just cooked up a couple of kangaroo steaks and to be honest i did not like them at all. I made sure to cook them medium-rare. I love my red meats but this just didn't hit the spot, not to mention that smell. I did eat them, just didn't like them. Very potent taste and smell.

collar do you season it at all?
-
05-13-2010, 02:02 AM #25
i season mine like steak with bit of salt, pepper, chili and garlic then grill it.. tastes good!
-

personally, no i dont.
but if you need to.. some salt, pepper and then you can play around with the rest.
for example like garlic, chilli and so on.
but if I went to restaurant when I order my kangaroo I get it the one marinated with cranberry and little bit of wine, taste sweet and delicious.
