Brown Rice w Shrimp? Brown Rice w Chicken?

Anyone have a good brown rice with protein recipe?

I want to start making something with brown rice and fridge / freeze it in containers. How do those chinese people put egg in it do they just cook the egg in a pan then toss it in with the rice?

I nice dish i found was making some brown rice, grilling a couple of chicken breast and then simply shred the chicken into the rice. Add a little soy sauce and your good to go!

Do you cook your brown rice using a rice cooker or the traditional method?

I usually do my brown rice with grilled (marinated in italian dressing) chicken breast, or tilapia seasoned with salt and pepper and cooked in olive oil.

Chinese stir fry usually just throws the eggs in with the rice (rice already cooked, then quickly cooked again with the rest of the ingredients).

Careful with full fat eggs plus all the carbs from the brown rice - I like to separate my carb and fat meals as much as possible.

The only time I like to have my brown rice is when I have a high-fat protein to lower the GI of the brown rice (sweet potato, eggs, potato are lower). So, I'll have my brown rice with london broil for dinner/pre-workout.

I'm on a cutting diet though & trying to be as strict as possible, but brown rice with hot sauce and chicken with cajun seasoning & onion powder would do it for me.

I made chicken with rice and black eyed peas and put it in individual tupperware. I need to know how I reheat it? Its in the freezer right now?

Do I take it out the night before and put it in the fridge to defrost?

Do I just cook it from frozen for a long time? What do you guys do?

I just started making my own version of chinese fried rice. Basically I cook up my brown rice like usual. Dice up an onion and scramble a few eggs. Throw the onion and egg into a high heat saute pan JUST until the eggs are cooked - you want the onion almost raw. Add to your cooked brown rice, season with soy sauce to taste, and WALA! No frying necessary, and it tastes pretty damn good IMO!

From there you could add grilled chicken breast, beef, shrimp, pretty much any protein you'd like for a healthy and tasty meal.
