    Empty stomach workouts?

I know its a great fat burner to do your cardio early morning before eating. What would be the difference of doing the same, but instead of or cardio and workingout out on an empty stomach. I know muscles need the protein. But what would the cons to doing a workout be on an empty stomach?

if you're talking about weight training on an empty stomach, assuming the goal of the weight training is to build mass, I would think the energy level would be lower and and you wouldn't be able to lift with the same intensity on an empty stomach as you would with the proper pre-wo nutrition.

working out on empty is a big no no...heres why

your body has no energy source to fuel you workout, so the first thing it will do to get energy is break down muscle sugar and then shortly after that, muscle tissue...so youll lose muscle basically, not to mention feeling weak as shit and having no pump or strength...

For my first 6 months of training, I did my workouts on a stinking slim fast shake, which is just about as bad as an empty stomach. That was a big mistake and I lost 6 months of potential progress due to it. I was ignorant and uninformed and figured that doing so, my workout would burn fat.

Nowadays i'm eating 1 cup of oats, 2 eggs and a shake before working out, strength and energy levels are much better!

I don't eat on a 'empty' stomach per-say but I work out mid day.

    Snack around 10am
    Lunch around 1230
    WO around 2
    PWO Shake/Carbs 315

So its not an empty stomach but I go in far from loaded.

I try and take in Complex Carbs in the hours leading up to the work out.
