My cheat meal - At the "holiday get together"

So This is what I did.

Had it at my house so I could control what went on the grill.
Had a shake before guests arrived so I would not be starving.
    My meal was:
1 six ounce burger. (93% lean, nothing at all on it.)
The "bun" was a light multi grain english muffin. - 100 cal, 1g fat, 26g carbs, less than 1g sugar, 5g protien.
My big cheat was a plate of watermelon. Probably about 4-5 cups. I know alot of sugar! Carbs? not sure.
    No deserts at all.
2.5 hours later had another burger identical the the first.

Looking for feedback. Did I do okay or was I completely off?
    I'm on cycle.

    Thanks!

x2. But yea, as cheat meals go; you did very, very well.

Watermelon is high GI but it's mostly water. I think a whole melon is like 200-400 cals.

No matter how bad a cheat - anything less than a week won't result in any real bf% gain if you've been cutting strictly for a few weeks. It's a setback, yeah - but realize that most Americans eat like that daily and are sedentary. Sure, they're fat but they don't gain lbs. daily.

Damien, well said. Of course in my mind, i've just thrown away every bit of my hard work in 3 days. However, I know that's not a rational thought and I have to realize that it took me years to get fat, and only 1.5 years to get relatively lean which is a great ratio. A bad weekend here or there isn't going to destroy anybody's diet.

I like to look at it like this: You have to see the big picture, over the course of time. Let's say that you diet for a year, you're good for 2 months and then bad for 1. You get right back on for 2 months, bad for 1. Yes, this is yo-yo dieting, but over the course of the year which of the 2 has won? Of course it's the one you did longer, the good dieting. That should still equal progress, albeit much slower than it could have been were the diet consistently good.

The point is spend more time doing the right thing and results will continue to come. Setbacks are a part of life, we're not robots.

    That's good stuff.

Yeah I know your right. My weakness is sugar though. Love the candy etc! And especially since I started the cycle I have been real good at staying almost completely off of it. So the watermelon was a real mental setback for me. I felt guilty for a while. Then just started feeling like Man, for all that sugar I should just had some chocolate or cookies and been done with it! lol

Like you said... that was 2 days ago and I'm over it.

    Well said both of you!

Chocolate and cookies are loaded with FAT in addition to SUGAR and are heavily processed foods. The same portion of those foods as compared to your watermelon cheat would literally by 10 times the cals. If you crave sugar, eat fruit every week or two. It's better than letting the cravings get out of hand. In fact, I don't consider it cheating when I have fruit 1-2 meals per week when cutting. I just try to do it PWO or after I've been active to justify it.
