    Always Tired

I dont know if this is the correct place for this question but here goes. I am dieting a little bit with watching how many calories I take in per day. But the problem seems to be from around like 4:30 - 6:30 in the afternoon I cant stay awake. It doesnt matter if I get 12 hours of sleep the night before and wake up at noon I will still be tired then. The thing is too if I fight it and stay awake from 4:30-6:30 it doesnt help me go to bed anytime earlier either cause by around 9 or 9:30 at night I start to feel like I have tons of energy again. Does anyone know what the reason for this is, is it hormonal or what?

are you restricting your carbs in any way? if you are, this could be your problem, and you should increase your complex carb intake sometime after lunch... recommend rolled oats or brown rice... maybe a sweet potato. also, how's your water intake? you could try drinking more water.
try these two and see how it goes. btw.. how many meals a day are you eating?

What are you eating before this happens? It could be a sugar/carb crash.

Ya I have been restricting me carbs somedays I keep them under 20 some other days because of bigger portions or food choice ill have about 40 or 50 carbs but ya thats what I have been trying to cut back on. Is it too drastic of a change cause I couldn't even tell you really how many carbs I used to eat daily I just ate whatever before.

^^^^^Get a Thyroid panel blood test. You would ask for a TSH ( thyroid stimulating hormone) and also get a separate t-3 and t-4 test as well. If you are tired a lot this can be a real sign that you have LOW thyroid.

I would be willing to bet that this is just routine related. Do you normally allow yourself to rest at that time. sleep? Your body has an internal clock and if you allowed it to rest at that time yesterday you will get tired at that time today. Change your routine if possible. Do something drastically different for one day. Give yourself something to do specifically at that time of day. Go get your groceries or clean the bathroom or go do 30 minutes of cardio. I will bet that on that day you will not get the tired feeling. Do it a couple days in a row and problem solved. Give it a shot and report back.

I had the exact same issue about 8 months ago. I was getting very aggressive with my workout routines, and at the same time restricting carbs, same as you. I became tired, irratible. A coworker that used to bb and work at a gym asked me if I was restricting carbs. Once I put complex carbs back in my diet, I realized she was right! no longer tired, and my happy go lucky demeanor was once again back. All was right with the world.
