Maybe it would be better to open this up so more people can enter, maybe some guys dont need a trainer and they are capable of doing this by themselves, we could call it a transformation competition and trainer's can help individual or they can do it by themselves, I'm sure this would create abit more interest?

I think that could be a seperate thread. I am trying to challange trainers to get them involved with helping members, the other is a great idea as well.

Seeing that there is only a small number involved we might aswell open it up to anyone to take up the challenge, it doesn't matter if there is a trainer or someone training themselves its still the same challenge, we can call it the Transformation thread, give it a time scale and ask for memebrs to put themselves forward

It needs to be open to everyone who wants to take up the challenge of transforming their body, weather thats being helped by a trainer or doing it by themselves, this way more and more people can get involved and its not limited, to be honest it isn't the trainer's anyway they are just motivators its down to to the individual's.
Who ever wants to take part voice your interest in here.

I have to agree with marcus here
Its mostly down to the individuals level of comitment
U cud have the best trainer with a crap client and they will get nowhere
Marcus is there a way that admin can open a new subsection under 'diet section' called '2011 transformation challange' similar to the recepie section
That way each client and trainer or individual can have there own thread
We could also make a sticky with weekly progress pictures etc...

I can make the transformation a stickie thats not a problem and I do think its a better option and we can have alot more people taking part, your right it isn't the trainer is down to the individual so lets open it up to anyone and everyone who wants to make a change.
If the so called trainers think so highly of themselves they can take part themselves even better
We can have before and after pics and we can even have a thread to vote for the judges so everything is fair.
We just need people to get involved, open to anyone and everyone!
lets get the list going

What about a sub section under the diet forum tho
That way it can have each individuals or client and trainer story/ plan in there own thread
We could then have a stick at the top of that section where weekly results and pics can be posted
It will be a much neater way of doing this, other wise u will have like 15 people posting there progress and comments in one thread, it will be imposible to follow

I'd say 3 or so judges as long as its an odd number so theres no ties. Vets, mods, hoffers, people who understand the work that goes into cutting/building.
As far as length i'd say 12 weeks would be a good place to start and would give adequate time for results?
Anyone else?

All of this was already discussed in the original thread
TB had a pretty good plan, although i think it needs to change a bit
I think we should do a 3 month program
Any staff member who wants to judge can
You can enter as an individual
As a client to be trained
As a trainer
Or both
Pics should be posted each week for progress pics
Clients and trainees can comunicate however they want, PM, IM, phone/VOIPLast edited by baseline_9; 11-20-2010 at 09:10 AM.

I am going to politely decline the invitation. There are some guys who are really good at prepping people off of pictures and stats, unfortunately I am not one of them. I need to be able to see them in person, work them one on one on the gym, speak to them and pinch their fat to make adjustments. I have no problem giving general and/or specific advice to help someone reach their goals but I dont trust myself to do a full makeover remotely.
Now, I will be starting my own contest prep for a couple spring shows soon. I will also be getting MrsFire ready as well and would be willing to chart our progress in the forum you have proposed.

Curious if this challenge will include a lot of psychology....as in getting into the psyche of the client. Will this be emphasized much? and to what degree? I am not talking about holding someone's hand but talking about taking an individualized approach to the client's weaknesses whether emotional or bad habits or attitude. Psychological motivation.

Fair enough, an open transformation challange, with trainers available upon request. I still liked the idea of the mod's pairing up the trainers with the trainees and this not being revealed until after voting. If we did it this way then each trainer could have more than one trainee, the trainee would just post a request for a trainer and a mod would pm the trainer and the trainee who they were assigned to. I'm not a fan of posting my specific training regimen on a thread, for a few reasons, not everything I know do I post here and, as slimmer suggested, each client has very specific strengths and weaknesses and someone looking at a routine and diet plan might not understand that and it might not be best for them. Also, what if someone "doesn't have a trainer" yet follows a trainers posted advice to the letter? Not fair for the trainer not to get some credit. I know everyone says you can get a terrible client and that shouldn't reflect on you as a trainer, but I promise you I've taken all of my clients and made them better than they could have been on their own. A coach doesn't have to be the best player, or even a great player, all of the success is inherant in the player, but lots of players never have a coach who unlocks all of their potential.
I absolutely know that base, and tons of others, will make great progress without a personal trainer, I am just saying that I believe with every fiber of my being, that no acheives alone as much as they could acheive with a knowledgable, skillful, caring trainer.
