How much protein do I need everyday to build muscles?
How much protein do I need everyday to build muscles?
When I'm using steroids , and when I'm not?
Stats:
26 years old
165 lb (75 kgs)
5'10" (178 cm)
Bf around 11 % I guess.
I have been working out for 10 years and recently I cannot notice any changes in the muscles size.
How many calories do I need everyday?
How much should I get from protein. carbs and fats?
How much is enough for every pound?
Thanks in advance.

Ok a basic guide I like to follow is....
LBM x 15 + 750 to 1000 cals per day
so....
140 x 15 + 750 = 2850 cals per day
which equals, as a 40 40 20 diet split...
285g Protein
285g Carbs
63g Fat
Verry quick estimate but that would be a start, weight yourself EOD and write it down, same time each time and make note, aim to gain 0.5 to 1lb per week
Forget steroids ATM....

However this is only a guide
It would be better to slowly add to ur current diet and create gains that way

You didn't post a diet you just asked a different question than you did in the other forum,
Guys will not advise you on using aas because of your size, but they will be more than happy to advice you on how to eat to gain. Take advantage of the knowledge this place has to offer.
Also shrinking yourself by an inch doesn't make your stats any more appealingLast edited by MBMETC; 12-13-2010 at 05:30 PM.

You need CALORIES to build muscle not just protein.

You missed my point. There are at least a dozen other factors that need to be known and considered before someone can tell you how much protein you need. You cant answer the question in a vacuum.

I got it my friend, but the problem is that everybody saying different things, I don't know who is right.
Some say that as a bodybuilder I should take 1 grams of protein per pound, others say more, I also heard others say that the protein daily intake should be much much more than that when I'm on steroids , unlike when I'm not on them.
btw, I'm 26 years old, 165lb, 5'10, bf around 11%, trying to start my 1st cycle. Thanks mate.

you have to eat a whole lot of protein for kidney damage and I think protein has to be most of your macro intake to cause kidney damage. I'll ask muscle

To the OP, as i said in post 4 above its better IMO to add to a current diet rather than just saying 1 + 1 = 2....
I hate it when people try and over complicate calculating calorie requirement
I dont care how good at number crunching you are it will always be a 'guestimate'...
The only real way to know what u need is to try it and see what results you get. That is what FG is trying to say,,, there are too many variable to use a cookie cutter sum to work out calorific requirments
The key is consistency with the diet, AAS will NOT help you ATM
In fact they will prevent u from gaining in the long run because you will loose the support of the diet guys that CAN and WILL help you get where u wanna be
Gd luck
