Protein Questions
so I've been reading articles that seem to say that the body can only digest up to 30g of protein per 2-3 hours, is this true? They claim and I should say through reaserch that even a massive bodybuilder can only digest this much and it doesn't even matter on muscle, mass, size etc. I've always gone by the 1.5 per kilo of bodyweight or more if I'm bulking up, but am I just wasting my money on protein powders that claim 50 to 60g per serving? Should i drop my protein down to 30g per meal. I know that some bodybuildes are consuming 500-600 grams a day isn't this just a waste according to these doctors? anyway would love it if someone could clarify this for me.

1.5-2 g per lb of lean bodymass is my rule I dont' know what that translates into in kilo's. Unless you're absolutley huge there's no need for anything over 400grams a day IMO. Absorbtion will vary from person to person. Also depending on gear thats being ran. the 1.5-2g per lb standard has been tried and tested and proven by bodybuilders for years. Not many doctors research is geared towards bodybuilding. IMO keep your protien high. And remember for every study you find out there you can usually find one that says the opposite. I actually have one bookmarked about the bennifits of smoking!

There's another thread going around where this was brought up, just recently. I think it's complete BS. I don't think there is an exact answer, and it probably varies a bit from person to person. But I DO think it's safe to say 30g is not nearly the limit.
