Grapefruits are great, get past the ideas of sugars being the enemy. Just like salt the body needs it, it just needs to remain proportionate to the amount that you take in. With fruit I personally try and keep it to 2-3 portions a day. If your taking more than that you risk the simple sugars competing with all the other ingredients your taking and allot of the time you need to have your complex carbohydrates working with the protein you just took to be long lasting for slow absorption, adding in sugary fruit can sometimes hinder this, although its always good for you it may hinder what your trying to achieve, especially when cutting.
Grapefruit has a very low Glycemic Load- 3 which is almost non existent, it also is a fruit that contains pectin which if you were to add a tablespoon of protein to it, together can satisfy your hunger for up to 4 hrs!! Try and eat them like wedges (like an orange) and you'll reap all the fiber benefits also. Great food and every diet should have them in it, providing your willing to get your "pucker"on! Excellent food and food source.
PS. I advise eating a half as a portion, at a time
