Need to Eliminate Rice
Over the last 6 months or so, I have been having issues with brown rice, which is a staple in my diet. Usually, I have two meals a day with 100g of rice. I am getting to the point where I can hardly tolerate it (gas, bloating, etc). Barley is even worse.
I need something calerie dense that is low glycemic, but not having many ideas. What other forms of cabrs do people generally use for bulking? I do not want any wheat products.
The rest of my meals consist of several servings of fruits, vegetables and oats and all whole foods - No protein shakes and only an occassional MRP bar.Last edited by crionics; 02-11-2011 at 04:11 PM.

Seeded brown bread, i have the same problem, anything over 100g of brown rice then i can fill an air baloon and look like one.
For bulking i also use tortilla wraps and MRP bars. I use high calorie shakes and cashews after training.
What is your good fats like???

Beyond the 4g of fish oil pills, my fat sources are primarily whole eggs, red meat and lean meats...I eat a lot of vegetables, but need more with good fats. Long story short, I don't eat as much as I should be.
With that being said, I haven't read anything connecting healthy fats to digestion.

I have heard of this, but also am not sure. There is definitely something to the conversion of starch to sugar in potatoes that occurs, even with storing them (in a fridge vs. room temp for instance). Unfortunately, I do believe this is correct but what can we do, eat them raw?
