    Not PWO...

    I used it pre/Intra workout with BCAA's

I would stick to Oats PWO, eventually those carbs can be reduced as well

There is no set rule that says you cannot use it PWO...

However I for one would much rather use a complex carb when trying to loose body fat... I feel that your body can utilise complex carbs better when your carb intake is generally going to be lower...

TBH tho everything comes down to an energy balance and what you do within that evenergy balance will probably make little difference so long as the balance is where you need it to be to loose BF....

^ ^ this. Read Lyle McDonald's article regarding energy balance.

With that said, I see no benefit to purposely ingesting pure sugar. I know Base is a fan intra-workout, and i'm not saying it's 'wrong' - I just don't personally see the benefit outweighing the potential negatives. I opt for more stable blood sugar vs. spikes.

gbrice, do you use yours pwo or pre-workout. If I used it pre-workout it would just cause an energy spike that would gradually slope down.

Use my what? I don't use dextrose/simple sugars at all

They don't do anything specifically for fat loss. It's simply that they are a relatively low GI, clean complex carb source that won't spike insulin and therefore helps maintain more stable blood sugar. The raw part is simply for convenience. Alot of us just dump them right into a PWO shake and chew em up. I actually love it!

never tried dextrose due to the arguments on insulin spiking ... i mean - ill have white rice post-workout for the simple carbs, rather than sugar carbs...

a supplement i loved for PWO was waxi-maize... fastest absorbing complex carbs .. skips your digestive system pretty much and you get complex carbs .. what's better than that?

definitely use dex pw imo.....i have for the past 8 weeks while cutting for my show at 50 grams plus 50 grams of maltodextrin....then an hour later i eat oatmeal and egg whites

works wonders for me and i'm down to 5.5% two weeks out from my show.....veins in my abs, quads, back....the ONLY time to use dex is pw tho imo, i actually like my complex carbs before my workout.

and you can get dex or maltodex at a few sites...google it....Edit - no advertising please

Long as your calories are below maintence then you will be able to cut.

So if you factor the Dextrose into your macros... go for it.

Though if youre cutting... shouldnt really need carbs pwo anyways. Protein is fine. Then a nice protein and fat meal for post-post workout meal.

Carb cut offs people. Great for leaning out while still growing.
