Protein Shake and V8 fast. Why not?

Specifically (and hypothetically), shooting for 2g/kg in protein, taking any vitamins / supplements that this may necessitate, and getting your FDA recommended veggie servings from V8...

    Why not?

    ... as a short-term fast, yes.

Is there anything horribly wrong with that as I laid it out in OP?

V8 is not a suitable repla***ent for veggies bro... just read the label and note the sugar content.

If you want to replace veggies with a supplement, look into green superfoods - something like Macro Greens from a company call Macro Life Naturals. I use them daily.

^ totally agree with GB. and with all that sugar intake, and no fiber, you'll be leaving a trail of diarhea every where you go.

There is a Diet called "The Velocity Diet" where one drinks nothing but protein shakes all day long for a month. It's basically a modified PSMF (protein sparing modified fast) It is a commercial diet where they sell you all the products though and it's a bit expensive. You can also do this by buying all you need elsewhere. You'd be having something like Casein/whey shakes, milled flax seeds, fish oils, vitamins and fat burners and that's it. You have one small solid meal a week but no more. It works, you will lose fat and keep muscle, it's just hard as hell and there are better ways to lose fat.

There is also the classic PSMF where you cut out almost everything but protein. Lyle McDonald has a book called "The Rapid Fat Loss Handbook" where he explains how to do a PSMF his way.

V8 is garbage whether you are on a diet or not. If you want to drink your veggies get a juicer and do it yourself.
