ok ive been doing my diet and am gaining fat! can anyone help
i gain weight very easy, too easy. I was 225lbs and droped to 180 by not eating much food. started my sust last week and my dieting, low carb and fat high protein...well much higher protein then before i know not enough but working on that. since i started eating 4-5 times a day as to 1-2 even though im eating right my belly is growing fast and some face fat increasing....heres my diet i know not perfect im learning but much better than before.
9am- cup of egg white liquid from carton...mixe with either lean ground turkey, or lean ham. i add either chili or taco seasing for taste and a little salsa. cup of coffee with sweet and low and non dairy creamer. 1 day a week i eat 4 eggs over easy with 2 pieces of wheat(cheat day)
160 cal
8g carbs
24g protein
0 fat
11:30- 2 cans of tuna with cottage cheese, salsa, and garlic powder no bread.
330 cal
8g carbs
68g protein
1g fat
2:30 pre workout meal, 1/2 cup of oats, 1 scoop of whey protein, sweet and low, blue berrys, no suger no fat syrup
374 cal
carbs...oats 27g, whey 3g, blue berries 21g syrup 10g=61g
36g protein
3.5g fat
6g fiber
15g suger(blueberries)
5:30 post workout meal-one of many lean chicken breast meals(2) found in nutrion section recipes, usually with brown rice.dice tom, salsa and a little pepperjack cheese. these all vary so no numbers to be exact. or tuna pattys made with oats, egg white no fat soy and no fat terriaki. no bread here.
8pm- either leftovers from 5:30 meal or another tuna cottage cheese meal.
for a snack i eat either a bananna, or a dill pickle or 2,
ive gained 10 lbs in 3 days since starting this diet now 190lbs, some muscle but definately face and stomach fat....do i go back to less meals because of my bodys desire to store food and make me a fat a**?Last edited by stb103; 03-04-2012 at 10:38 AM.

There is no way to gain that much fat in 3 days bro. You said you went from a low calorie diet to this, so your body was deprived of carbs and mostly everything else. You are eating cottage cheese which is dairy, ie it will cause a little bit of water retention. also, you are eating bananas and pickles. the banana restores muscle glycogen which also attracts intracellular water, adding weight. and the pickle is loaded out the a$$ with sodium. id have to say that the pickles are the cause of the weight gain coming off of a low cal diet. the sodium levels increase sharply and water retention piles on. IMO drop the pickles, and drink more water and the weight should level out. theres no way you can gain even a 1/2 pound of fat off this diet in 3 days.

also the chili and taco seasonings are loaded with sodium usually as well. try to find some low or sodium free seasonings bro

im on sust, been a week ...and i weighed myself wed at gym pre workout was 180lbs, then sat was 189lbs, my gut is getting bigger every day very noticeable and face. it makes no sence to me either. ill drop the pickles and banannas, and lower sodium. do u think because i starved my self for months to lose the 45 lbs my body is storing it all? and ive noticed my bowel movements has decreased alot as well.

Lose the cheese, blueberries, bananna, teriaki, non dairy creamer, and salsa.
If you aren't doing cardio, do 30 minutes 4-6 days weekly.

could also be the low fat intake, incorporate more efa fats. and your body may be reacting to a slight starvation mode. how much cardio are you doing?

^^ second. and its a rarity but the prop in the sust may cause bloating as well. not gonna say it is but there is always a chance. and yes your metabolism is possibly slowed down from starving yourself. you should have waited on the sust until you have gotten well into your diet and worked the tweaks out. and the tuna and stuff. do you drain the water out of the can and rinse the meat with clean water before you use it? if not then the packaging water is also loaded with sodium.

I agree with what everyone is saying about the water retention. But there's a few things that I might point out.
I was in a similar situtation as you a little less than 1 year ago. I didn't know much about dieting and I thought the best way to drop lbs was to drop calories. I was eating less than 1000 calories a day. This DID work to a point but there's always a big negative when it comes to super low calorie dieting.
I'm sure you're familiar with BMR, but if you're not it's the amount of calories your body burns in a resting state. (if you don't workout and eat above this number...you'll gain weight, if you eat below this number you lose weight)
For this illustration lets say that your BMR was 1800 calories. Now lets say to lose weight you dropped your calories to 1300, you lose a few lbs and everything seems great. (Keep in mind that your body is always adapting) After a while of this 1300 calorie a day diet your body says starts to adapt to this and goes into survival mode. It thinks to survive it needs to adjust to this and adjusts your BMR to 1300 calories. Now, in order to drop weight you have to drop calories again.
So now you drop your calories to 800/day. You lose a little more weight. But what happens after a while? Your body hits survival mode again and adjust your BMR to 800 calories a day.
After a few weeks of this dieting at 800cals a day, you get frustrated, and say the hell with it. You knew from previous experience that you could eat 1800cal/day and not gain or lose any weight so you go back to that. The problem is your body has already adjusted your BMR to 800cals/day. So now you're at a 1000 calories surplus. At that rate your body will gain weight/fat at a rate of 2lbs per week until it adjusts to it's new BMR which could take weeks or months.
So, what I did was introduce calories slow but steady week by week so as not to gain too much fat until I was able to reestablish my previous BMR. Adding cardio and training helped with this by increasing my TDEE as well.
My point to all of this is, if you've been in a severe caloric deficit for a while I wouldn't jump straight into eating an extra 1000-1500 calories. You will put on fat!!!! You need to introduce them slowly week by week. In the meantime I would stop the aas use, hit your pct, and get your diet in check.

slfmade i have done this exact thing, but i didnt want to tell op that just incase it was a fluke. I went anorexic a while back, and had to slowly up my calories, and i still gained weight rapidly. But now that i know someone else has this info, im relieved lol. so yes OP, its possible that its just a tad bit of fat, but not 10 pounds of it in 3 days...

thanks for all the input....i will make the changes needed. i usually do cardio 30-40 minutes a day 5 days a week, this week its been hard due to soar quads from injection, its getting better though and i plan to get back on it tomorrow. i work out mon-fri, rest sat and sunday. ill cut alot of the things out you stated, im only eating these because of what i read in the nutrition section. as far as cottage cheese, i use it to mix with tuna instead of mayo, any other mixing solutions?

As I said earlier...I agree it's the water retention that is the weight gain...it wasn't my intention to imply that the severe caloric deficit is what's caused his weight gain, But it will cause weight gain if he's not careful. When reading his post it was an observation that I thought I would point out before he came back on in 4 weeks saying he had become fat.

OP, cottage cheese is fine as long as you dont overdo it. I use it at night with PB for my last meal. I dont bloat off of that. And do you have PCT already for the cycle?

Slfmade got it right- drastic changes to diet will cause problems. Slowly ramp cals either up or down depending on goals. Also, starting a new diet at the same time as starting AAS Probly not a great idea- the weight gain is def associated to fluid retention from ur diet and adding sus into the mix. Stop the juice now, do pct. figure out cals and put yourself in a slight deficit (-500). Drink tons of water and do some fasted cardio every morning.

I think pretty much everything is covered here... just wanted to add something.
You're calories seem off to me, just as an example... you're have 1 cup of egg whites plus turkey and salsa and you're only calculating that meal as 160 calories? Where I live and I'm sure the calculations are pretty close everywhere.... 1 cup of egg whites alone is 120 calories.... you may want to check your numbers on all your meals to make sure.
Good Luck
