    Eggs!!

This may sound like a stupid question but do you get the same type of protein from eggs that you would from red meat?

Same 'type'? Not exactly. Protein is made up of amino acids. Protein sources have different amino acid profiles, i.e. some will have more of one than another, etc. Having said that, all meats, as well as eggs et. al. are complete protein sources - meaning they contain all of the essential amino acids (essential meaning our bodies cannot produce them and they must be obtained from a food source) required to build new tissue, etc.

Furthermore, protein sources have varying digestion and assimilation rates. Eggs and fish are relatively fast, chicken and turkey are a bit slower, and beef is one of if not the slowest digesting sources. Dairy is made up of 2 different proteins - whey, and casein. The former is very fast (faster than eggs), while the latter is much slower (but not as slow as beef).

    Hope this helps.

BTW - I want to make clear that eggs are an excellent protein source, considered by many to be the gold standard.
