My current diet
Haven't posted it in a long time and just figured i'd do so, for sh!ts and giggles.
Note - I am currently taking a little break from IF, so this is a SOMEWHAT standard diet. However, it's more lenient in terms of carb and meal timing in general, as I need some sanity in my life:
5am: Meal 1 (preworkout)
1 whole egg + 1/2 cup whites - 18g protein, 4.5g fat
1 cup spinach (negligible macros)
1 cup nonfat plain greek yogurt - 24g protein, 9g carbs
1/2 cup oats - 5g protein, 25g carbs, 2.5g fat
1/2 cup blueberries - 15g carbs
3 fish oil caps - 3g fat
42g protein, 34g carbs, 11g fat
OR
1 whole egg + 1/4 cup whites - 12g protein, 4.5g fat
3 slices lean canadian bacon - 11g protein, 1.5g fat
1 cup nonfat plain greek yogurt - 24g protein, 9g carbs
1 light English muffin - 2g protein, 15g carbs, 1g fat
1/4 cup blueberries - 7g carbs
3 fish oil caps - 3g fat
47g protein, 31g carbs, 10g fat
8am - Meal 2 (pwo)
1 scoop ON Casein - 24g protein, 3g carbs, .5g fat
1 scoop Myofusion - 24g protein, 7g carbs, 2g fat (will be replacing with ON Pro Complex soon)
1/2 cup oats - 5g protein, 25g carbs, 2.5g fat
48g protein, 35g carbs, 5g fat
12pm - Meal 3
8oz boneless skinless chicken breast - 50g protein, 4g fat
30g blue cheese - 5g protein, 8g fat
1 small apple - 10g carbs
2 cups mixed greens (spinach, romaine, mesclun, etc) - negligible
2tbsp raspberry pomegranite dressing - 7g carbs, 3g fat
3 fish oil caps - 3g fat
55g protein, 17g carbs, 18g fat
3pm - Meal 4
1/2 cup 1% milkfat no salt added cottage cheese - 15g protein, 1.5g fat
2oz low fat beef jerky - 30g protein, 9g carbs, 2g fat
3 fish oil caps - 3g fat
45g protein, 6.5g fat
7pm - Meal 5
7oz 95/5 lean ground beef - 50g protein, 7g fat
1 light english muffin - 2g protein, 15g carbs, 1g fat
2 cups veggies (spinach, broccoli, etc - something green) - negligible
3 fish oil caps - 3g fat
52g protein, 15g carbs, 11g fat
DAILY TOTAL: 250-275g protein, 115-130g carbs, 50-60g fat
That's it, not currently doing a bedtime meal unless i'm actually hungry. These are the types of allowances and flexibility i'm talking about.Last edited by gbrice75; 07-09-2012 at 11:20 AM.

what made you quit the IF diet? life?

^^ just taking a little break... wanted to start eating a 'regular' preworkout meal again, and changing things up keeps it all fresh for me. I'll still do IF... intermittently!

i have been pondering changing it up also. i have been IF'ing for about 6-7 months.

That's a long time. Although IF is touted as a way of eating for life (which it certainly can be), I personally need to change things up to keep them from getting stagnant. I'd never be able to go 6-7 months, kudos for that!

Hey GB I like that you integrate some "regular" food into your diet. How is the cut going so far?

Yep, that can happen! 2+ months of being lazy did it to me!
Damn TRT guys!!!
That was big for me. Simply put, i'm tired of dieting, and worrying about what I eat. Bottom line - my diet is better than 99% of people out there. I'm not going to sweat a bowl of oats vs. an English Muffin. If that's the difference of being 12% bodyfat vs. 9% (not saying that's the case however), then i'll accept 12% and a somewhat normal life.

Is that less than 2000cals on a 'normal' day?
Over here we just call English muffins - muffins. Though we also call cake muffins - muffins!NO SOURCES GIVEN

yes us damn trt guys. you just wait till you're one......
-
07-10-2012, 11:06 AM #18
For the most part, every day is a 'normal' day for me right now. I'm training 5x a week, so I don't have any off days during the week... and i'm not really dieting on the weekends, but doing my best not to go wild either.
Makes sense!
Consultation in 5 hours, we shall see!

wish ya luck on the evaluation as well. question, i remember you stating that your wife was getting into the whole diet/nutrition thing. how is that coming along?
-
07-10-2012, 01:32 PM #22
No doubt, thanks for your support!!
Thx bro. I have many reasons to believe my T is low, aside from the fact I can't build any appreciable muscle mass and have a TERRIBLE time losing bodyfat. I keep repeating this, but my one major concern is infertility. My wife and I want to have at least 1 more kid... if TRT is going to compromise that, it's a deal breaker. I will have to really get into HCG , HMG, etc. with the doc.
Meh, she kinda fell off already lol. Once in a while she gets really into it... this wasn't one of those times. It'll happen!

Good luck on your new eating. If you need any info or help I'm your man, LOL J/K really.
Now get back to that Avy pic. Good luck with the consult. Keep us posted.

lol, I know... i've been really bad. I'm on the board about 30% as much as I used to be... it's tough to keep up with everything! Even worse - this isn't even my thread! This is just a 'shits and giggles' thread. I don't even know where my real thread is, or the last time I updated it.

I will say this though - feeling fairly strong. Benched 255lbs x 7 with no spot, perfect form. Slow negative, touched chest, no bouncing, exploded back up, full ROM. I'm far from the powerlifter type, so 255lbs for reps is pretty good for me.
