Too Much Protein?
I am now 7 weeks passed PCT after running 400mg test per week for 10 weeks and have just received blood work results. Everything is normal except some of the liver values were elevated in comparison to the results from pre-cycle bloodwork. My doc asked me straight off if I was taking protein supps and I replied that my diet is high in protein. Would the elevated values be a result of the test or from eating too much protein? I dont think my protein intake is overload as its around 250-300g per day (i'm 93kg or about 205lbs) and around 350-400g per day when on cycle.

blaz i went thru the same thing with TRT doc. while i was running UD2.0 (which im running again currently) my liver and kidney tests came back abnormal and i was suggested to go to my PCP. well i suspected the same as u (protein) and researched a bit online and found out high protein can indeed affect kidneys and liver. once i came off my cutting diet for about 3weeks and went to maintenance which didnt reduce protein significantly but added an equal amt of carbs my levels returned to normal. i think not only volume of protein but also percentage of total cals coming from protein have this effect.
im not gonna say the cycle hasnt affected ur liver but the first step id take if i were u would be to add back in carbs to 40/40/20 maintenance and run it for a few weeks and retest. some liver support would prob not hurt as well.
google high protein diets and the effects on the liver..
hope this helps

Thanks for the reply 405. I've run UD2 before and liked it, but I always felt smaller after the glycogen depletion phase, lol.
About 3 weeks ago some bloke at work told me about stress being placed on the liver from too much protein. I must admit during my study of nutrition I havent investigated this but it certainly got me thinking when I got my bloodwork results. I'm currently doing a post cycle cut using carb cycling but i've only been on this program for 2 weeks but prior I was eating just over maintenance at around a 40/40/20 split.
I might ease up a little on the protein but keep the carbs up on carb-up days and see how it pans out. I've another script for more bloodwork in 2 months' time so i'll be able to compare the two sets of results.
