Red Meat unhealthy?
Is it unhealthy to eat red meat everyday? Since I work out and am active I just burn it off? (saturated fat).
I eat eye round steak almost 7 days a week.
Please give me your insights.
Thanks

Mix it up with chicken, turkey and fish. Not sure if there's any science about it but I read somewhere to keep red meat consumption to a maximum of 2 days a week.
Try googling it or search on this forum, I'm sure the question has been asked before.
Good luck. I love my steak as well.

High in saturated fat and cholesterol, from what I've read 2x a week is a good idea for red meat. Between that, fish, chicken and eggs, you should get plenty of protein. Like Thompson said everything in moderation.

I ditto above. 2x per week is a good rule to follow

Thanks for the feedback guys!
I eat a lot of chicken and eggs/whites as my protein source, I just love red meat so much.
*(I just read online from a study from Harvard that eating red meat everyday will increase your death by 13%)
I guess 2x sounds good
I'm going to have to start forcing myself to eat fish. Any recommendations?

I eat either tuna, or canned pink salmon. I should buy fresh but its so damn expensive where I live. Ill pick up some snapper when its on sale though.

I buy frozen white fish, it's quite cheap frozen, you can cook it without defrosting too, which is convenient. I also like to eat tinned sardines/mackerel, the kind in tomato sauce.

You would be fine with 96/4 lean ground beef but it seems like you are talking more about steaks.

Red meat is unhealthy, as is coffee, eggs, milk, too much excersize, etc.
Everything in moderation, I guess.

Get lipids checked and you may be gtg. But 2-3 times a wk is the rule of thumb

Yeah it's good to mix things up, not only because it's bad for you, but to stop you from getting board of eating the same things day in day out, this can cause you to stray away from your diet (crash) (hello junk food)

I don't know about you, but as much as I love steak and brisket, if I ate it everyday, I'd get sick of it quick.
A 1lb rib-eye steak with the fat trimmed has:
1240 calories (900 from fat)
100g of fat and 41g of saturated fat
300mg of cholesterol
254mg sodium
and 79g of protein
That's quite a bit of fat and cholesterol just from one serving. And I don't know about you, but I never request the cuts that have the fat trimmed off (that's best part). And I always want lots of marblezation on my cuts.
Anyways I don't like to say something is an unhealthy food or not. It's really about what fits your diet. What are your nutritional needs? Can you fit this food in to your dietary plan? Absolutely, but you probably need to make adjustments in other parts of your diet. In otherwords, it's not if red meat is unhealthy, it's whether or not your diet is right for you.

If u can fit it into ur macros then go for it....
Red meat is not unhealthy.... That's a blanket statement and simply false...
Sat fat and dietary cholesterol are also not an issue... At least not the big issue that current 'trend' makes it out to be...

I eat red meat at least once daily, sometimes twice. We NEED some saturated fat for general health, that's a fact. Having said that, I don't go out of my way to look for meats that are high in fat - the leanest cuts still have a decent amount as is. I stick with 95/5 lean ground, and for steaks I'll typically go with top sirloin, sometimes flank. I avoid high fat cuts like ribeye, NY strip, etc.

At work I eat 2 steaks a day for 14 days straight, I trim the Fk out of them though, so it prob works out to be about 300-400g of beef, then at home I eat kangaroo steaks 400g a day, my diet is in check 100%, will be getting a blood test in a few months, as I plan to cycle again after this 6 month break, looking forward to see my blood results after 2 years or cycling on and off with pct's and recommended on/off time, and what my diet is doing to me

I eat ground beef 93/7, 16oz Mon-Fri and 16oz Sat & Sun. My BW is totally fine, my digestion as well. If you can digest it properly and BW is fine by all means go for it.

Actually, chciken and egg yolks is higher in arachidonic acid than beef....about FOUR times higher. Turkey seems to be the best bet.
