Food Allergies - Anybody Have Them?
If so, what food is the allergy from and what symptoms do you get?
Not really looking at intolerances but straight allergies.
I occasionally suffer from an eczema type skin complaint that sometimes flares up horrendously. I have never concerned myself with finding out if it is food related but am now going to try a bit of an exclusion diet and see what transpires.
From tomorrow I will be excluding eggs, nuts, peanuts and bread. I'm leaving the small amount of milk and cottage cheese I have in my diet, for now.NO SOURCES GIVEN

Interesting topic. I actually got a full panel done and my results were all negative. (dang it's an expensive panel!)
Sucks you have to exclude eggs.~ PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR SOURCE CHECKS ~

TBH I don't really eat many eggs and I only reintroduced them a few weeks ago. That's when I got this flare up. But I also got a virus about the same time and started eating more bread (making my own). My PB intake went up a little too. I also stated a new gym which isn't particularly clean (which is where I suspect my virus came from).
It may be nothing to do with food but if I go for a blood panel my Doc is gonna wanna see a food diary an then recommend an exclusion diet before he will pay for a test anyway. So I wanna go armed and ready.NO SOURCES GIVEN

I was very frustrated. Probably wasn't necessary but I was crashing every single day between 2 to 3 pm. Not just crashing... I'm talking falling asleep while driving kinda crashing. I even scheduled an appointment with my doc around that time to duplicate the issue so they believe me. Which I did. After testing one thing here, another there, I pulled just about every panel possible and I threw in the allergy panels. My problem was extreme cortisol drop around that time.
I'm very interested in your results, however and glad to hear you wont be missing eggs much.~ PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR SOURCE CHECKS ~

I'm allergic to all nuts (except Almonds which I grew out of a year ago), fish, and sesame seeds. Up until a year ago I was also allergic to all seafood. It use to be hell getting good fats in. One can only stomach so much EVOO and eggs. I long for the day of being able to eat fish and take fish oil pills. Consuming any of these mentioned allergens either would put me in the hospital or in the grave, depending on quantity consumed.

Eczema can be food related. Don't no quack to tell me that. I just wanna know if that's why I get it or some other reason.

I don't know that I necessarily have any food 'allergies' per se, but I've found beyond a shadow of a doubt that I have issues with carbs, all sorts. When I run a low/no carb diet, bloating goes down (not just water retention), I'm not at all gassy, etc. As soon as I have a carb up day (even with 'clean' carbs), literally 30 mins later I'm farting like an animal, bloated and gassy, sitting on the bowl for 15 mins at a clip. I used to think I had lactose issues, but have since given up milk (and lowered dairy intake in general) and still suffer these issues only when consuming carbs.

I am alergic to shrimp and crab, not sure about lobster but can eat mussels and clams. I am pretty sure its the iodine in the shells from what I have researched. As for the guy saying going low carb gets him gassy, could that be because your body breaking down all of that fat and protein. I know eggs cause methane and meat breaks into amonia.
